Sorry I don't watch Fox news or Russia Today, so I can't provide you with sources of those, but to be honest, I had scientific sources in mind, though I know you will not accept those either

I only watch MSNBC, which is why I'm well informed.

There are certain idiots who hold a grudge and stick a thumbs down on any posts by the person they disagree with/dislike.   They will put it on posts they don't even read, they will put it o

How about this???....putting a thumbs down  automatically opens a text box into which you must post a response of no less than twenty words.....otherwise the forum is locked for you.

Ok guys, hold your breath. I am trying for the  Gold!

Long live the thumbs downers, after all we are living amongst them. Science has no solution for some diseases, yet!

Have you ever seen him agree with a post?

You have, many times, seen me agree with all sorts of comments via "Thumbs ups" and "Like" emojis!   But, even if I hadn't agreed with any posts, that would be my prerogative on a forum, wouldn't it?

Emojis are anonymous.

That does the brain dead Lou not realize yet.

Well done, I know they are, doesn't mean that I have never agreed with other comments including his.

You know the meaning of SEEN, or do I have to explain it to you with images?

Ok. People have seen you agree or disagree with them when you've added emojis which are anonymous. Can you see how wrong this is?

Yes, they have, even though they don't know it.

Thumbs down should be changed for -1 and deducted from +1 tally. It is overused by numpty types as pointed out. That or it shouldn’t be anonymous and then we’ll see who’s abusing it. They should then have ‘thumbs down rights’ revoked. 😋

anybody else sense any losers posting here that are just mad they are called out as often as they are?

That must be why there is a publicly viewable "Thumbs down" facility on YouTube videos today!

Only the uploader on YouTube can view the number of thumbs down. The thumbs-down tally was removed in 2021, as previously stated.

Emojis of some description have been there for many years, if not since the beginning of the forum.

Wrong again! Emojis have always been available for use in posts (since I first joined in 2005), but reaction emojis were not introduced until much later. You've been wrong twice now, so it's time for you to give it a break.

After this emoji was introduced here at AN, I found it appearing in a most surprising, confusing & irrelevant forms.

It would be great if someone with a knowledge of psychology, explain how and why this is so prevalent? Perhaps a misunderstood emoji?

You posted "Down Syndrome." It's not kind to make fun of people with disabilities.

Have you ever considered WHY you are getting them. I mean you in particular?

Trolls, like yourself, don't like getting crushed underfoot.

I have access to who posts which emojis?

I seem to recall my teacher at Primary school used to put some sort of smiling or growling face on my attempts there.

I think the pathetic examples of humanity are the grown men who get so upset over a small collection of coloured pixels.

Maybe you fall into that category?

I am sorry. Seems you are not really well. Please do read the title once you recover.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

I think i have one or two personal down thumbers also.

I think it is because they run out of ideas of their own or they feel they lost in an argument. They don't have any facts to back up their stories, just endless repeat of what the leader has said(lied)

Have a pretty good idea what side of the political spectrum they are.

I am not angry or upset,i can understand their frustration with all the winning and stuff.

Just shows low level of thinking and childish behaviour, i believe when ever they come across one of my posts they give it their best!

Thank you for that!

Emoji obsessed. How about a double toastie for ฿39 instead?

Apologies for what may seem an idiotic question, I take it that you are referring to a toasted cheese sandwich, but what's a double toastie? I looked it up and see no answer. Is it a double portion of cheese? Is this a regional expression?

Nope, I have never ever commented or complained about the little coloured icons. I am in favour of them - positive, negative, all good. I just miss the confused one as it was perfect for dumb posts.

I think they would be better if they weren't anonymous, but definitely think we should be allowed to use negative ones, they don't hurt me.

There are posters who literally give it to every comment on some articles but give themselves away as being the only comments without it .

These are people who have been on the forum for a very long time .

I actually just noticed this this morning after receiving thumbs down on my post and looked through all the posts and noticed one posters comments had no thumbs down emoji 😀👍
