That will bother you eventually, unless you are a complete nihilist (rare).

Wow, Susan! Another amazingly creative new topic from you and this one’s another masterpiece. Bargain basement depth with redundancy as the main course and a dash of dumpster diving. Truly groundbreak

  • So you can't discuss the topic. Always the way with you. Just a troll. Why do people join a Thai forum then never discuss Thailand? So strange. Not so difficult to talk is it?

we are talking about interpersonal relationships between male and female, I think the "You never listen to me!" and "I'm going home to mother!" replete with tears, shouting and door-slamming is quite common for females in many countries and cultures.

But in Thailand there's always a younger and prettier lady waiting to move in. They can't afford to go home to mom and expect their position to still be vacant when they return.

My last one discovered that when she disappeared for a week.

How can you have kids and say nothing matters

Pointless to worry needlessly about your imaginary rights over a women's property. Easy enough to make more, or take in some nobody else wants.

That seems uncivilized. Why take care of the kids at all then

In that case, why take care of cats, dogs or rabbits?

Then you're not putting in your full focus on them. Kids with single moms doesn't work out well for them

The 11 year old I took in (27 now) has been my very best achievement in life.

If my wife divorce raped me I guess I could see your perspective but if I thought like you then that just adds unnecessary stress on others

Your standard answer to such questions ..............

Oh, jumping on the Hf bandwagon, what a surprise.........:saai:

Rabbits make good stew.

The jury is out on cats and dogs.

love those times.

Me too, enlightening, exciting and somehow invigorating, all at the same time. Bit of a bugger when the guns and knives come out though.

Calling Hua Hin a city is laughable

There is only one city here, the rest are towns.

Since 80% of my Tinder responders seem to be from Nonthaburi, I guess I will be giving it a look in soon.

I am resistant to the portion of Nonthaburi that is on the so-called wrong side of the river.

If anyone has any Nonthaburi insights to share, I would be grateful. They definitely have some nice restaurants, particularly by the water.

Dimwitted fantasists who have never been to Nonthaburi, but still have a lot to say about it, are particularly welcome.

Which side of the river in Nonthaburi is the wrong side, east or west?

I would like to know if our condo is on the right or wrong side!

Our condo is on the riverside.   Now if the condo admin would only unlock the gate to the pier (a small one) I could sit there and fish.

We have a nice view of the city lights.  Phra Nangklao Bridge can be seen from the condo.  Westgate (I think it's Westgate) can be seen off in the distance.

Up here in Udon Thani, I meet up with some similar minded buddies, down a few alcoholic beverages, reminisce about previous adventures and try to put the world's problems to right. Some of us still flirt with the bar girls, but we all still people watch (and criticise) the younger expats with their trophy Thai ladies in tow, and give marks out of 10 regarding the chance of it all ending in tears.

Special Forces? Meh...

It was 3 PARA.

I was out there at Ramasun Station.

I like looking for definitions of words and did an internet search for "eventuality".   I did read the definition on the web page but also read the "AI" explanation.   What a bunch of BS that was!

Slum lord huh?

Not me.   Damn tenants of my rental take better care of the place than I did when I lived there.

Shot myself in the foot letting those people move into my last house.  😎

Slum lord ... yes & no.  I never really had a bad tenant, never skipped rent, especially since some where Govt paid.  BUT, definitely not in the best neighborhoods.  Cheap buy in, greater margin of 'sweat' equity (rehab) of handy man specials.

Daughter house a nice town house.  First tenants sucked.  New tenants are great,  and she & mate have high end condo, that's rented.   So mortgages are getting paid, equity being built, and doesn't cost her a thing.  Any net profit, goes toward additional principle payments.  They don't need the income, and paying off early is way more important.

I had bad tenents in two houses.  First in California when I was an absentee landlord.  They paid the rent but didn't take care of the place.  I sold it and used some of the money to put a down payment on the house that is a rental now.  Second, same house as I rent now.  Tenants trashed the house and didn't pay rent.  Cost me $12,000.00 in rent and repairs.

The husband had the audacity to complain that I threw away his above ground pool two weeks after moving out. This was in the winter.   Which one I asked, there were three that went to the dump.   All the trash the family left went to the dump where they charged by the pound to dispose of it.   I was charged for 2000 pounds of trash the tenants left in and around the house.

The good tenents make repairs and minor upgrades, but fail to give receipts to the manager so it can be deducted from the rent or be paid back.  They have been instructed to do that several times!   Last major repair was to have the deep well water pump replaced.  Over $3000.00.   What do we do tenant asked manager, manager asked me, what do I do?  Told manager, get it fixed, pay for it, tell me how much, you have the authorization to do that!

The only downside of those tenents, that I know of, is the husband smokes in the basement.   I can smell it in the house.   But there is a product that I can order that kills odors and any bugs in the house too, like hibernating stink bugs and roaches.   Comes in a plastic jar about 250 ml capacity, has a chemical packet, close all windows, open all doors and cabinets, pour water in and leave for a couple of days.   Return and open all windows for a few hours.   No cigarette smell.

The rental is similar to what you described.   Not a high end house, more middle of the road type.  I paid the 30 year mortgage off in 13 years.   Now have over $40,000.00 in rent sitting in the bank.   Need to put that into a CD for interest.

Yeah I had three properties, one was a triplex, so I had five rental units.

Two houses were paid off 5 to 10 years, the third house I just paid for cash.   RE was very nice to me.

so whats so special about Chiang Mai exactly?

never been. serious question.

ive been there numerous times to study massage over a number of years, its ok if your with a group of friends partying but most tourists go there for a week after BKK to apparently chill out before going to the islands. After 7 years living in Thailand my assessment is, its the same as everywhere else unless your a tourist, sure pai is 3 odd hours outside but even thats the same as lots of other places. Coffee shops, grapow, its the same. If your a tourist or want to study its great but as a place to live it would get as old as fast as anywhere else

  3. Infrastructure: Must have basic urban infrastructure (roads, sanitation, etc.).

  4. Economic Activity: Must have developed commercial, industrial, and service sectors.

  5. Local Government: Must have its own local authority or municipal body overseeing urban management.

Cities in Thailand:

What about Nakhon Sawan?

Good call and apologies from ChatGPT — the earlier list of Thai cities was incomplete and incorrect.

Errors:
– Hua Hin was wrongly listed — it's a town, not a city.
– Nakhon Sawan, Hat Yai, Rangsit, Laem Chabang, Chaophraya Surasak, and many others were missing.
– Total number of official city municipalities (thesaban nakhon) in Thailand: 33.

Correct list of all 33 Thai cities (as of 2024):
Bangkok, Buriram, Chaophraya Surasak, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Khon Kaen, Ko Samui, Laem Chabang, Lampang, Mae Sot, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Sawan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Nonthaburi, Om Noi, Pak Kret, Pattaya, Phitsanulok, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Phuket, Rangsit, Rayong, Sakon Nakhon, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Songkhla, Surat Thani, Trang, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Yala.

Moral of the story:
AI isn’t infallible — it just answers fast.
Accuracy still needs human instinct, persistence, and a good bull<deleted> detector.
