You want to make guns illegal to stop shootings, but shooting people is already illegal. Why not just enforce that law, rather than passing new laws? 

 

Because passing laws is easy and facilitates a lot of grandstanding, virtu-signaling and feel-good chest-pounding, while enforcing laws is difficult and requires hard work and tradeoffs.

Who would remove them? The US government can't just take away privately owned firearms and destroy them?The only legal way would be if they were used in a crime  and the owner was cionvicted.  This is called due process which is a very important legal concept in America.

It would require the repeal of the 2nd Ammendment to the US Constitution.  This would take a great deal of time.  Also, at the present time the political party in power has no desire to start any kind of repeal.   It appears you are not American so you might not understand what I am saying.  Just as I really don't understand the Thai legal process as well.

Yes. Too many years in CA and now in CNX.  Had a really difficult time in Deceember in Incheon S.Korea a few years back. Also more of a big city guy and places like Wyoming and Montana are big, open and beautiful but not my cup of tea to actually iive in. But I have been to Nashville many times and thought it was a great city.
