Thought I would try her as LINE help is not very useful.

 

Seems recently (maybe since upgraded my phone, though I do not use Line much from the USA) I cannot add some people on LINE using ID or phone number.  And these folks do not have restrictions on their end...

LINE has some confusing information about older versions...

 

I am running the latest verson on Android 15 (Samsung S25).

 

Cusrious of other experiences...and solutions....

Default now is adding by QR scan, but in settings tick the box for adding contacts using ID or phone number

Where is that Setting in Android version?

 

Line can be a right pain for sharing another’s contact.

They've changed it again but, Home, Cog top right, then Friends.

 

Also, Cog, then Profile, Select Allow others to add me by ID

But that is for allowing others to add me, not me adding other

 

I am trying to use Search to find and add others (they give me either name or phone)... Sometimes neither works....

Very rarely has ever worked for me. I have to scan their QR code or generate mine - sometimes sending to a different person who is already linked to send on. Generally I only do face to face unless a business where it seems to work more.

 I am guessing it has to do with the version # (when account created) and platform (IOS, Android).... ugh... they should fix it!

Possibly but I also have several friends/acquaintances with different versions who have the same issues. It has been like this for some years so if you are expecting a fix you may be waiting a long time.........
