So if France chose a kangaroo as a national symbol, Italy chose a Flamingo and Australia chose a Bengal tiger that would make perfect sense to you would it? It's stupid! That's what England is doing! There are no lions in England!

There are plenty of foxes, badgers and beavers. But no lions whatsoever! It's a total nonsense!

What is nonsense is this discussion. England hasn't chosen the lion as a national symbol, the English football associations have. I assume that they are free to chose what ever logo they like. If they choose a symbol from England's history good for them. France it is a chicken.

Plenty of beavers, I guess that is a euphemism.

At least there are chickens in France!

There are no lions in England!

And on top they claim 3 of them. As if lions grow on trees in England!

Tsssk. And Richard Lionheart was half French! His mother was born in Bourdeaux!

For somebody who uses a lion symbol as his avata. I hope there are wild lions in the country that you live in.

Why, lol, Richard Lionheart didn't have lions in England and you're okay with that. The FA uses 3 lions and there are no lions in England.

Let's plaster lions anywhere, willy nilly!!! Lol.

Except that's nowhere near true.  Birmingham does not have a Muslim majority population; in the 2021 census, 29.9% of residents described themselves as Muslim, while Christians made up the largest religious group at 34.0%.

Dont believe it

Figures show  that 32.2% of residents in Birmingham (uk) identify as Muslim including the current & past Mayors, ..... while 32% identify as Christian

You are obviously too thick to understand the symbolism of 'Lion Heart'.

Many animals appear in heraldic coat of arms, including Dragons, Unicorns, Flying horses and other mythical beings, all symbolic.

But you can't see that through your anti British bigotry.

According to the 2021 Census, 29.9% of the population of Birmingham, UK, identified as Muslim. This is a significant increase from 21.8% in the 2011 Census and is substantially higher than the national average for England and Wales (6.5%)

Christianity remains the largest religion in Birmingham, at 34.0% of the population, but it saw a notable decrease from 46.1% in 2011. The "No religion" category also grew, to 24.1%.

Apparently, yes, as the the census does not identify immigration status.

You think illegal immigrants fill in the census forms? 😃

Name; Abdul Hamed.

Occupation; Deliveroo driver.

NI Number; Don't have one.

Passport Number; Dropped it in the channel.

Address; 35 North Street, Bradford.

Haha.  Good point!  However, NI and passport numbers are not required, so I guess some might slip in!

The outpouring of hatred towards poor Keir and Sadiq is alarming, Such vicious racism here is quite shocking.

All of this hatred and violence over hanging flags from lamp posts. Let's end all of this infighting and simply hang Keir and that POS Hahn from any available lamp post.

In fact, I believe TREASON is still on the books in the UK, so hopefully a nice public hanging, followed by a spot of "drawing"  and "quartering" should do the trick, but making sure that their intestines are wound onto a rod and roasted in front of them both on an open fire.

Seems about fair to me.

The act of 'Sedition' is easier to prove than treason to the Crown.  All main EU countries have "Sedition' written into their laws.  The UK had 'Sedition' also on it's books until Gordon Brown when about to leave office had it removed.

Would like some politicians to be asked (Question Time) will/would they reinstate the crime when back in power.

Excellent quote.

Read up on King Richard. England uses 3 lions as it's football team emblem. I will forgive your ignorance of the matter on degrading a woman taking that as a sign of pride of her nationality.

You may also want to look at the official English coat of arms and the lions it contains...........

Yeah but there still ain’t no lions in England, cept in zoos where the flag sh•ggers belong.

Not really contentious....but if England becomes swamped in flags, Union and St George, it might have the opposite effect the Tommy Robinson's of the World desire.

The flag becomes ubiquitous and as a consequence loses its racist overtones.

Indeed, the effects could be quite positive if the English actually take pride in their history and what their flag represents.  Not just the racists using it to promote racism.

We don't want to become a flag waving country like America though - flags everywhere!

Bring them out for special occasions: national celebrations, international sports tournaments, then put them away until next time. Mature, civilised, and it keeps them feeling special when you do see them out.

In the meantime they can just set fire to hotels full of people, smash up mosques, and throw bricks at police to express their national pride - leave the flags out of it.
