In the past some countries held Cock fights with the sharp spurs that can cut the rooster and indeed the fight was usually to the death, today in Thailand that practice is outlawed now the fights are usually three twenty minute bouts and the owners carefully monitor the condition of their birds and if they think it is distress they will through a white towel stopping the fight, as you see they can have a large investment and do not want to loose their birds.
