August 24, 2025Aug 24 Popular Post Blimey, lads, imagine this for a second. Putin rocked up in Alaska, slid a set of video tapes across the table like he’s dealin’ Tesco Clubcard points, and he reckons it’s Trump on Epstein’s bloody island, in flagrante with some Mexican housekeeper. One second Trump is puffin’ up his chest, talkin’ sanctions and ceasefires, next he’s all floppy and impotent. Proper full TACO from zero to a thousand in a blink when really he should be growing a pair, like Pence just told all the media. The man’s got less backbone than a wet street stall noodle, and the Nobel prizes? Gone. Evaporated. Not a sniff of ’em anywhere. The whole world’s standin’ there thinkin’, “Did that just happen?” and Trump’s just blinkin’ like he’s caught in a reality TV show with no remote. And let’s not forget the sheer embarrassment of it all. Trump rolls out the red carpet for a dictator come war criminal responsible for over a million deaths in the Ukraine war, treats him like he’s some kind of celebrity guest, shakes hands, smiles, laughs at his jokes. Meanwhile, he’s supposed to be the great deal-maker, the master negotiator, but achieves absolutely feck all. Putin doesn’t blink. No concessions, no backing down on a single demand or condition. Zero flexibility. Trump’s the one doing the grovelling, and the dictator’s just strollin’ away with a quiet giggle like he’s won the lottery. Advisors are standin’ there slack-jawed, tryin’ to mask the cringe, while Trump’s puffin’ up every so often like he’s still in charge of the whole sh*t show. Charts about sanctions and ceasefires? Ignored. Plans for a negotiated settlement? Ditched. Talk of security guarantees? Never existed. All that red-carpet pomp, and not a single inkling of a deal is done. The man promised the world a masterstroke, and what do we get? Nada, zip, zilch. Just another photo op for Putin’s scrapbook, and a global facepalm for the rest of us lot. Honestly, it’s the sort of thing you couldn’t make up, and yet, here we are. Only in this mad, mad world, innit. The man goes from alpha to jelly in a heartbeat, the planet collectively says talk to the hand, and the only thing left to do is grab a beer and watch the rest of the over leveraged clown show. And the icing on the cake? Putin gets back to Moscow and immediately bombs an American factory in Ukraine.
August 24, 2025Aug 24 Popular Post Didn't we hear incessantly from both Trump and MAGAs how Putin had no respect for President Biden? Compared to how Putin is treating Trump, Putin honored Biden like a god. The silly claim that "If Trump were President, Putin never would have invaded Ukraine" now looks so silly. Give it up, MAGAs. Trump is Putin's door mat. This total lack of respect---even contempt for Trump by Putin---will not go unnoticed by Xi and Kim Jong-un. Expect some East Asian saber rattling to begin soon. BTW, three decades ago, before he was called TACO, Graydon Carter wrote an infamous article for Spy magazine where he referred to Trump's short fingers as cocktail franks, and subsequently gave him the moniker "the short-fingered vulgarian". Apparently Trump never got over that. Carter says he still received envelopes from Trump with images of Trump and his hands, with a gold Sharpie line drawn around the hands, trying to tell Carter he was wrong. THAT is the level of insecurity Trump has, and rest assured Putin, Xi, Kim and anyone else who deals with Trump has been briefed by staff about all of that. Leaders are always briefed on the weaknesses of the person they are to meet, and the volume on Trump must be thicker than an old Manhattan telephone directory. The whole world is laughing. Oh, and what afternoon is Trump going to end the Ukraine invasion? There's been a lot of afternoons since 20 January 2025, but the particular afternoon to end all afternoons has yet to arrive.
August 24, 2025Aug 24 How about less talk, talk, talk and more war, war, war from the Europeans. When are those boots hitting the ground?
August 24, 2025Aug 24 During his first administration some sanctions were implemented on Russia, at the insistence of national security officials and Congress. Trump himself objected. "In almost every case, the sanctions were imposed with Trump complaining about it and saying we were being too hard," his former national security adviser John Bolton said on Newsmax recently. He fomented discord at home, advancing Putin's objective of sapping American resolve. "Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people," his former Defense Secretary James Mattis said in 2020. Republican senators who voted to acquit Trump of those impeachment charges applauded as Biden excoriated the Russian leader in last week's State of the Union address. A Republican-sponsored "Putin Accountability Act" in Congress seeks to sanction, among others, the Russian oligarch who more than doubled Trump's money on that Palm Beach mansion. Even Trump has changed his tune. A week after praising Putin's strategic acumen, he denounced Russia's attack on Ukraine as "a holocaust." Huh? A rare reversal, for the "king of the double downs". The death and destruction is only beginning, give Trump another year or two and those who supported him will begin to understand the very nature of the man, and the staggering extent of his deception, malice, evil and corruption. Prior to the election all of his supporters knew that he adored dictators and despots and he had a lack of affection for democratically elected leaders, but did anybody guess that it would be this bad, so soon? Trump is a clear and present danger to the security of both the United States and the Free World and he must be stopped. The Senators and Congress members of his own party and the Democratic party must stand up and defend freedom and rational thinking, against this insane goon. From some of his speeches during the campaign: I will address inflation, I will bring the price of food down, I will make America affordable again. False. He has not even made the slightest effort to address inflation. I will solve the Ukraine crisis. I will get both parties to the table and I will get this resolved prior to my inauguration, if I am president elect it will happen quickly. False. The opposite has occurred. He is bowing down to Putin's dictates and making Zelensky into enemy number one.

August 24, 2025Aug 24 Popular Post The White House said quite clearly before the meeting that no negotiations would be taking place, Putin and Trump would be putting their positions to each other in preparation for later meetings. No cease fire was arranged, that's true. It's also true that the events leading up to the Ukrainian war would not have happened under a Trump presidency, People seem unaware of the Minsk and SALT agreements that were broken

Did Trump promise a ceasefire before the Alaska meeting? Yes. In the lead-up to the summit, Trump insisted he wanted a ceasefire, even setting deadlines and warning of “severe consequences” if Putin refused Foreign Policy He also said on Air Force One that he would not be satisfied unless some form of ceasefire was agreed upon 2. Did he threaten heavy sanctions if no ceasefire was agreed? Yes. Before the summit, Trump had warned of tariffs and significant consequences if Russia did not agree to pause hostilities 3. Were those promises fulfilled? No. At the end of the Alaska summit: There was no deal, no ceasefire, and no new sanctions announced Trump later dropped his demand for a ceasefire, stating the focus should instead be on a final peace agreement Although he later again threatened sanctions if no peace deal followed, none materialized immediately after the meeting 4. “No ceasefire was arranged: that’s true.” Absolutely. Wanting a cease fire and getting one are two different things. Who else do you see doing this better? Hillary?
August 25, 2025Aug 25 Where’s that reset button when you need it? The ‘80s called, they want their foreign policy back… Tell Vladamere if he can give me space until after the election, I’ll be flexible on missile defense

You might try rephrasing it like this: "a dictator cum war criminal" After all, writing it this way might make your nicely written comment even more grammatically lucid. Also, reading your comment, .... have you recently been reading Ken Kesey? Great example of stream of consciousness. Are you from Ireland? Maybe Dublin?
