Why do only Russians love Classical Music, these days?

My honest opinion?

Disgusting.

I did not listen to the music.

I am just referring to those piercings.

Who in their right mind would do such a thing?

Sicko?

It is more charged with intensity than the Simon and Garfunkel original.

Music is a language that speaks to our emotions and feelings. You should develop more polyglot tastes, it would broaden your horizons.

What better social commentary has there been than American Pie?

I like classical, pop, Country and Western, opera, ballads. Reggae and jazz, no. You would probably reject Ennio Morricone as a composer. Your loss.

This is probably not classical in your restricted view. To me, it is one of the most haunting compositions ever written for violin.

Bonus - guitar riff from Hotel California.

It's not my fault if nobody here takes me seriously.

People do not take you seriously, because you waffle.

Please go soak your head.

What utter trash.

Still, enjoy it, or try to, if you will.

Sounds like music to go to war to....

For that, it might be helpful, just to keep one from thinking.

During the Soviet era, classical music was practically the only music allowed. That explains much of the reason for Russian devotion to the classics.

This is not classical.....but only more mush.

For some reason, people in the WEST are able to listen to a short passage of classical music ONLY when they first see it in a movie.

I feel so sad for the rotting culture of the west.

I do not waffle.

I reserve the right to change my views based on any new valid data which comes my way.

Ah...

So....

The Soviet authoritarianism was good for something, after all....

Tks for the info...

I had not considered this finer point.

Is Bruch considered classical? One could almost make a case for Rhapsody in Blue.

Is this classical?

I don't know how people can listen to Bruch's violin concerto today. It's like being hit over the head with a frying pan.

No worry...the chinese maestros are already taking over and soon will be running the major philarmonics of the west.

I enjoy Bruch's music., especially the first movement.

All right, I'll bite. What music do you like? Doof doof, perhaps?

I concur, wholeheartedly...

Have some Scriabin, if you do not mind getting whacked with a rolling pin, afterwards...

I will keep listening, because I enjoy it. Mush on. To the nethermost sheol with censorious prats.

My trip to the golf course takes 25 minutes. That gives me almost an hour with the return trip to listen to Rach 2, or Brahms 1.

There are enough dictatorships in the world, I don't need a musical one.

This is the ONLY reason you should listen to any music, if you are listening for pleasure.

Baroque, I love.

Fair enough. How about Verdi?

I have Russian pop and Georgian folk on my playlist, as well as Bachs entire well tempered clavier and all his Masses

Russian girls singing in Russian is a turn on, must be the tongue placement in the language.

By the way, put your stop watch on this dudes singing
