No one should ever criticize your taste.

That would be simply impossible.

JS BACH is the one true god.

It has been written in the Bible.

There shall be no other gods before JS BACH...

Comparing Russians to an Eastern Algonquian Native American tribe is not only misguided but also deeply offensive. Such comparisons contribute to the dangerous ideology of white supremacy. We must challenge and reject these harmful narratives.

You are so amusing, and a nice comment, as well.

Well appreciated, might I add.....!

BY THE WAY:

a.  I think there is no real need for me to start a NEW TOPIC to answer this question:

b.  What is the BEST 24-hour-Classical-Radio station both on the net, and also on the radio waves????

1.  Is it ....

image.png.abf43dc67bcdaa333e16ef11704b8a45.png

1b. https://www.wqxr.org/

2. I have been listening for years.

3.  Some time ago, as I recall, the station was moved to NEW JERSEY...if I am not mistaken.

c.  So, do you think that Germany might have a better radio station for this kind of music, compared to WQXR???   Because...

IF SO....then I will definitely take a listen.

d. If not Germany, then are there others that can top WQXR???

Thank you.

IF you don't want me to start a NEW TOPIC....then...

Please answer me here....

THANK YOU....!!!!

I need to get back to my classical roots....PDQ....!!!!

Well in a direct answer to your headline......I am not Russian.

60 years on the road with my Fender Basses, and I still listen to Classic FM most of the day.

Would Eleanor Rigby be classed as classical, some of Brian Wilsons instrumentals on Pet Sounds and SMiLE are magical.

Seems that Asians have been on the rise, for quite some time, during recent decades.

Of course, Asian parents, meaning Chinese parents, value classical music as just one of many ways to enhance their children's education, and provide them with an appreciation of music which will last them throughout their lives.

Asian children, Chinese children, who come from good families, are lucky.....in my view.

I must admit I find Tolkien tedious.

OTOH Asimov, Herbert and Clarke were giants of science fiction.

Dear Folks,

Are the Russians now, or can they be considered to be, The LAST of the MOHiCANS, in the fields of classical music production, and appreciation?

Why is this?

In the WEST, most classical music now being produced is turning to mush.

Sort of a mix of pop, classical, and heavy metal, seemingly.

I cannot listen to the new stuff coming from Amerika, for example.

Take ROSTROPOVICH, for example...

There seems to be nobody on the horizon in New York, especially at Julliard, that will be even one-tenth as great and EARTHY, too, as good ole' ROSTRO-P.

Can it be that what they say is true?

When a culture, meaning the Western Culture, begins to go down the drain...then....

Great Musik is quickly replaced with all that is substandard.

You know the music that I am talking about because....

I have posted just too many vids of substandard music in TV....

It's all substandard, in my opinion.

I just post it because it's amuzing to listen to....

And, because I feel such nostalgia for the likes of MICK, for sure...

But, Mick cannot compare to ROSTRO....

I am thinking that we might save our world if EVERYBODY would discard all substandard POP music, and begin listening to GREAT MUSIC, instead.

For sure....

Great Music, if we listen long enough, will change the brain stem, and other parts of the brain.

This is no joke, because we can quote many studies which prove this is true.

Maybe I will post a few examples.

And, where do I get this great music, in the first place?

Well...OFF RUSSIAN websites,....OF COURSE...

Because, YT is now pretty lousy at offering what we SHOULD BE LISTENING to...

And just provides content which will wreck our world, soon or later....

Probably sooner...

Do you agree?

If not, then why not?

Best regards,

Gamma

Note:  My ears are still good.  I have not forgotten great music

I have a theory that there is an inverse - and unintended - relationship between the rise of recording, performance and broadcast technology and the degeneration of quality music.

The most obvious example is the ear-shattering blare of rock, punk and their descendants, but you could also argue that the intellect and intent necessary to listen properly to classical music is simply too much mental effort for a dumbed-down populace unwilling or unable to expend the intellectual effort to appreciate what has gone before. I grew up in the 1950s loving Prokofiev, Shostakovitch, Berlioz and other greats from the 19th Century onwards.

I'm not specifically referring to the classics in this intellectual exercise, either.

Listen to some of the 1930s pop and jazz - the Coon Sanders Orchestra is a fine example, or Django Reinhardt later on - and it might well make you wonder what has been lost with the supremacy of technology.

I am a great fan of lots of late 20th Century musical effort - Kraftwerk, The Residents, Nina Hagen, Qasim Naqvi - but am sincerely curious as to whether the listening public has not been beaten down by the power of the tech.

This is not just a theory.

This is a fact.

Please just google.... AUTO-TUNE

This has been in use for several decades.

And, this means that almost anyone can carry a tune, after a few adjustments.

Anyway, Pop is Garbage.

You dont like Georgian folk music? It has that Gregorian polyphony which characterizes ancient church music. Fabulous country, too bad their language is indecipherable. Im heading over there to check it out in a few months.

How bout this one, Stalins favourite, Suliko. His Ukrainaian and Russian henchman would sing along.
