I thought that would have been obvious .

Even after explaining that it wasn't meant to be taken literally/seriously  , a poster is using that post to cover up his earlier lie .

So, I would like to retract that post above

Not really. He will lie, deny that it was an attack by the IDF, try to deflect the thread to blame Hamas or anybody else, rather than admit to the truth. He is the worst kind of Zionist that you can imagine.

Becoming tiresome.

You’d like to retract your statement that demonstrates the truthful answer to the question I asked you.

I can see why that seems like a good idea to you.

'   EH, I clearly stated it was probably an IDF tank firing .

I believe that I was the first poster on the forum to state that it was probably IDF tank fire

@billd766 s claims were untrue, inaccurate and unfounded . I stated that it was probably caused by the IDF

Any journalist working in an active war zone is fully aware that they could be killed at any moment..... It's their choice to be there...

Of course any President except Trump would immediately denounce and condemn Israel for the strike against a hospital and the resulting deaths of journalists from two of its top American newsgathering agencies - the Associated Press (AP) and NBC. Wanna bet Trump just shrugs it off?

No big deal, that is the cost of supporting the terrorists.

Which part of 'hospital' did you miss? Also, they are all Gaza natives (journalists) because Israel won't allow foreign journalists in - not to mention barring food to ease the Israeli-inflicted famine - so I guess they didn't have much choice but to be in Gaza, now did they.

Occupying forces are bound by international law not to target civilians and hospitals.

This was a ‘double tap’ attack, not an accident, not a mistake.

So that makes it OK to kill them?

Depends.

Israel’s army is using a secret unit to shape narratives around Gaza, portraying Palestinian journalists as Hamas operatives to justify strikes. Analysts say the tactic silences reporters and controls the story in one of the deadliest conflicts for journalists.

Israel’s war in Gaza has not only been fought with drones, tanks and air strikes. It has also been waged through words, videos and carefully crafted narratives. At the heart of that effort is the army’s shadowy "Legitimisation Cell", a communications unit tasked with shaping international perceptions of the conflict.

According to the independent Israeli media outlet +972 Magazine, its mission is clear: to scour the lives of dead and living journalists for any trace of Hamas links, however tenuous, to justify killing them.

‘We are painted as targets’: How Israel puts Gaza journalists in the crosshairs

Hmm... the only country i see condemning Israel attacks now is Germany and maybe a few other small EU nations. So I am confused by your comment. Why attack Trump only when not even sure what his response will be? What about China, Thailand or other Asian countries, Or other EU countries who have not said a word about it? I think you have too much Trump on the brain that you lose focus on the big picture.

Wider reaction to the killings

UN Secretary General António Guterres strongly condemned the "horrific killings" at Nasser hospital, which he said "highlight the extreme risks that medical personnel and journalists face as they carry out their vital work amid this brutal conflict", and called for a "prompt, and impartial investigation".

The UK called the attacks "horrific" and "completely indefensible".

Prime Minister Keir Starmer's official spokesperson said journalists should always be protected and the attacks illustrated the need for a ceasefire.

French President Emmanuel Macron called the strikes "intolerable" and said civilians and journalists must be protected. He renewed the call for humanitarian aid to be allowed inside Gaza and for Israel "to respect international law".

Germany's foreign office said it was "shocked".

What does Israel say?

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) initially confirmed it carried out a strike in the area of Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza.

Throughout the day, Israeli officials issued multiple statements with little information in them, indicating a lack of clarity within the military about the attack but designed to address widespread outrage.

On Monday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said Israel "deeply regrets the tragic mishap that occurred today at the Nasser Hospital in Gaza", adding that Israel "values the work of journalists, medical staff, and all civilians" and saying the military was conducting a "thorough investigation".

However, the statement does little to address the apparent "double-tap" nature of the attack. The fact that most of those who were killed were struck by the second attack at precisely the same location around 10 minutes later appears clearly intentional.

A hospital that is not used exclusively as a hospital becomes a legitimate military target.

You may not like that response, but as you are a stickler for legalities, that is an inconvenient truth.”

Now let’s see you demonstrate three things:

1. That’s argument that has any standing in international law.

2. That the hospital was used for anything other than as a hospital.

3. That journalists at a hospital makes the hospital and the journalists a legitimate target,

1. The definition of military target is set out in international law. we have already had this discussion previously. You can start with Protocol 1 of the Geneva Convention (1977 ver.) Protocol 1 defines a military objective as an object which, by its nature, location, purpose, or use, makes an effective contribution to military action and whose total or partial destruction, capture, or neutralization, in the circumstances ruling at the time, offers a definite military advantage.

2. If the "hospital" hosted Hamas or other militant meetings, served as a logistics center, munitions depot or convenient  place of refuge for militants, it becomes a legitimate target.  The images of tunnels, munitions supplies, computer and data centers used by Hamas was previously demonstrated in other  "civilian" purpose  buildings including hospitals.

The strike on the building was not broad and was specific to one area. This is a condition of targeting a civilian declared property that is being used for military purposes.

3. Why were so many "journalists" on one floor? What event was going on. to date, no one has asked or explained why so many "journalists" were in the area that was hit. It has already been established that Hamas fighters are often described as "journalists". It provides excellent cover for militants to move around. Gaza has a large  number of individuals who are not actually employees of news organizations, but who make submissions as "independent stringers".

When is a journalist a journalist and not a member of the Hamas propaganda  unit tasked with spreading the Hamas political line? Can you guarantee that the dead are indeed not Hamas affiliated?

Ideally, a hospital should be used as a hospital and not as a work space for people who identify as a journalists. If the premises are damaged in a war, is it reasonable to present the building as a hospital if it was not actually a hospital. In previous weeks the facility was described as closed and the shortage of medical staff and supplies was blamed. In June, it ceased functioning as a hospital when the competing Gaza factions used it as a confrontation point and turned the building into a battle zone.  and And yet, on the day of the attack it is described as a hospital. That's quite a miraculous turnaround. Where did all the  supplies come from if there are allegedly no medical supplies entering Gaza as Hamas and its supporters claim.

But they came as close as they ever will to apologise so I'm sure that will be a great comfort to the bereaved families!!

They sure do make a lot of mistakes like killing the ambulance crew and denying the scenario until film footage was found.

I've read all the posts and hand on heart I think we have some psychopaths on this forum yagoda for one needs a lobotomy he is 100% nut job
