Nong Prue Municipality held its annual fire prevention and emergency response drill, simulating a large-scale fire evacuation and first-aid response to ensure readiness in the event of a real emergency.

The exercise, presided over by Mr. Winai Inpitak, Mayor of Nong Prue, took place at the municipal office. The drill simulated a fire on the third and fourth floors of the building, complete with smoke and flames, caused by an electrical short circuit. Staff and visitors were evacuated, while some “trapped” personnel on the upper floors were rescued using a fire service ALP (aerial ladder platform) from Pattaya city.

The full-scale exercise involved collaboration with numerous local agencies, including Pattaya City, Pong, Nong Pla Lai and Huai Yai municipalities, medical teams from Pattaya Pathomkun Hospital and Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, volunteer rescue personnel (Or Por Ror), Nong Prue Police, Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation and other relevant agencies. Teams worked together to evacuate “injured” personnel and manage the emergency scenario efficiently.

Following the drill, organisers evaluated the response and readiness of all participating units to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

Mayor Winai emphasised that the exercise aims to boost public confidence and prepare both officials and residents to respond promptly and correctly to potential fires. “The municipality has developed this training and drill programme to raise awareness and ensure that citizens know how to act safely and effectively during a fire emergency,” he said.

The drill forms part of Nong Prue Municipality’s ongoing commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness, ensuring that both staff and the community are ready to respond to unexpected incidents at any time.
