August 30, 2025Aug 30 Zylenskyy has finally said that Ukraine cannot win back territory taken by Russia by means of war. This is obvious to all but the short bus riders on here that think he can and think Ukraine is winning this devestating protracted war of attrition. Some of this article seems to be refering to total Russian control of Ukraine (I have underlined) but this IMO has never been Putin's goal. He wants Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson and of course Crimea. https://www.kyivpost.com/post/59137 President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia will never occupy Ukraine but acknowledged that Kyiv currently cannot reclaim all its internationally recognized territories by military means. Speaking at a press conference before talks with US officials in New York, Zelensky emphasized that diplomacy, international sanctions, and security guarantees are key to protecting the country. “We all understand that today Ukraine cannot fully restore all its territories by force of arms. They [Russia] don’t have enough strength, and we don’t have enough strength. Therefore, when we talk about what society and people believe in, I consider that today the diplomatic path means fewer killings, fewer losses, and is faster than the path of war,” the channel My-Ukraine reports reports Zelensky saying. He outlined Ukraine’s three levels of security guarantees: Maintaining a large Ukrainian army equipped with weapons of Ukrainian, American, and European production. Agreements with NATO partners at the leader level, ensuring readiness to support Ukraine in case of new Russian aggression. Sanctions against Russia and the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s postwar recovery.

August 30, 2025Aug 30 I bet It will not end soon and Russia will eventually take over the entire place after western countries get sick of spending 100s of billions.

The only way it will end soon is if Zylenkyy gives up territory. This is obviouly not a good thing but even though it might take some years more and 100's of thousands of lives Russin forces will get the oblasts Putin wants. As for Putin taking all of Ukraine this just isn't possible IMO.
