When people are picked due to diversity then it is a down hill slope, if a Chinese person, a Korean is chosen due to their ability then they have not been choses because of diversity but due to their ability.

 

Giving jobs to people due to diversity means ONLY choosing a person because they are not white.

When I grew up, I realized that the war was necessary and we just didnt fight it right. WE stabbed out Armed Forces in the back.

I would agree giving jobs to people for the sake of diversity alone is a slippery slope.

 

However, if there are two candidates for a job of equal ability, I would go for the one that brings more diversity.

 

The reason being they will think outside the box of one racial group.

 

It is said travel broadens the mind. With some posters on this forum, it would appear the opposite is true.

I have hired hundreds of people and probably interviewed thousands, and was never had a situation where I thought two candidates were of equal ability, except perhaps for entry level positions and grunts.
