Police have arrested a key figure in an illegal online ammunition trafficking network, accused of supplying bullets to customers across the country for more than four years.

On 2 September, Police Major General Wichaya Sriprasertphap, commander of the Crime Suppression Division (CSD), ordered a team led by Police Colonel Manoon Kaewkam and Police Lieutenant Colonel Teeradech Arunnonprarat to execute an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court.

Officers apprehended 51-year-old Kittisak, known by the alias “Ae Khon Kaen”, at a house in Mueang district, Khon Kaen province. He faces charges of possessing and selling firearms or ammunition without permission from the registrar.

During the raid, police seized 16 items of evidence, including ammunition, shipping materials, bank books and mobile phones.

The arrest followed an earlier case in which police detained another suspect selling illegal ammunition online. That individual confessed to sourcing the bullets from Kittisak. Investigators subsequently uncovered financial records and delivery documents linking him to more than 60 shipments in a single month, mostly through private courier services.

Kittisak later admitted to illegally trading ammunition online for over four years, with a customer base spread nationwide.

He has been handed over to investigators from the CSD for prosecution.
