How can there be a real comment to an unknown AN member who invites anyone to meet, in Sri Racha, and pay themselves. Rather a silly OP in my opinion, but who am I to comment?

Sounds like you are the silly one. It's people like you that just cause trouble for lack of nothing else to do. Get a life. and get out of mine

I am not IN your life in any way. All i did was voice my opinion, on a public forum, about what I thought about your 'invitation'. And it has degraded into a discussion about sauce.

How do you know 'people like me' and what I do?

Enjoy you little meeting with whoever responds.

I'm very fond of Sriracha sauce, and didn't even know that there was a town called Sriracha.

I've tried the Thai version of it and it's not nearly as good as the US version made by Vietnamese folks.

Why did you not Google or Chat GPT Sri Racha before telling us you didn't know about it, making yourself look a bit silly?

So I’m guessing you’re out, yes?

Yeh, don't like the town. Love the sauce!

Do all you ever do is complain about others? Take a look in the  mirror.

I agree with mogandave. Don Krapote is just a whinger.  He needs a hobby.

Glad to know that you won't be attending. Buddha listened to me.

How amazing to see that even when you share an idea about a sauce, there're still people who gives you the finger,

what's up with those people? if you have a comment to say, say it, don't just give the finger to people.

There appear to be some pretty committed misanthropes on this forum, why somebody would give the thumbs down to a hot sauce is beyond me too.

I guess I would be a tiny bit offended if I cared one iota, but since I don't, I'm not. Ha!

Since you've taken another stab at it, I'm going to ask if you're really so poor that you need others to pay your way  or is this another  case of "British humour"?

He liked the sauce.

Little fact, the sauce in the US is made by a Vietnamese in the US

Real Sri Racha sauce is different

Apparently, the Vietnamese adopted the sauce recipe from Sri Racha and decided to keep the name, pretty clever!

I am in Sri Racha and just moved here. If you want to meet up for coffee, lunch, etc for a chat get in touch.

Unfortunately, I’m thousands of miles away. May I ask what brought you to Sri Racha? A Japanese friend of mine loves it there and has invited me many times, but I still haven’t visited. I used to live in Pattaya but never made it to your area.

I can afford to go out to coffee or lunch every day if I wanted to.

But not to meet a complete stranger.

The foreign community of Srirarcha is dominantly Japanese.

Is there a particular reason why Japanese people choose to live there instead of somewhere more lively like Pattaya? Come to think of it, I don’t recall seeing many Japanese in Pattaya back in those days.

Probably because it is close to the big industrial parks in the region, where they are employed

Because hookers in Sri Racha are amazing looking, unlike the bottom of the barrel you get in Pattaya.

Most condos are cheaper and look like hotels.

Many Japanese companies own factories in Sri Racha.

It is a bit sad that chat boards have replaced so much human contact.

It’s not been that long the people would actually talk to each other in public.

Fair enough! It’s probably much cheaper than Pattaya to attract Japanese. Are the supposed sex workers Japanese or Thai? I’m surprised Japanese companies still keep factories here given the rising labor costs and the stronger baht.

Labor costs are rising everywhere, and Thailand is a strong domestic consumer goods market.

The strong baht is good for domestic manufacturers.

And you think that because Japanese factories currently are scaling back their business here, that all Japanese that have built families there over the last 30-40 years suddenly leave?

I think the OP's suggestion was very nice.

Unfortunately, majority of AN members seems not to be the socializing type.

Maybe due to our advanced age, making new friends is not our strong point?

IMHO

There isn't a "Finger" emoji.  The forum-provided emojis are comments, they're showing an opinion.  If you can't take opinions from other members, don't post comments!

The labor is not a huge expense for them. It's Chinese that are destroying them. My wifey was working for  a Japanese company for 20 years selling car parts and computer parts. They are unable to adapt price wise and are resorting to scamming ways (like reverse engineering). They are lazy and stuck in their ways. Not hard working at all.

Sorry to hear that. Reverse engineering does sound pretty interesting

I’ve been doing some with software using debuggers and assembly, but I guess in this case it’s more about hardware than software.

I really hope it doesn’t come to that, but with the competition and rising costs, it’s tough. Are they completely dependent on the factory income?
