Labor costs are rising everywhere, and Thailand is a strong domestic consumer goods market. The strong baht is good for domestic manufacturers.

The labor is not a huge expense for them. It's Chinese that are destroying them. My wifey was working for a Japanese company for 20 years selling car parts and computer parts. They are unable to adapt price wise and are resorting to scamming ways (like reverse engineering). They are lazy and stuck in their ways. Not hard working at all.

Reverse engineering does sound pretty interesting I’ve been doing some with software using debuggers and assembly, but I guess in this case it’s more about hardware than software.
