"The bank found that from May through July, the “hard data” from the U.S. economy has shown an elevated risk level, standing at a probability of 93% most recently. This sits at “historically worrying levels,” UBS says, given this signal’s track record of identifying turning points using data from the National Bureau of Economic Research.

The bank notes other classic warning signs of an impending recession from the data, such as the inverted yield curve, which it notes is 23% inverted, steady in recent months but up sharply since the start of 2025."

Well lets hope for a recession then. Anything other than being guaranteed 99.9% something will happen, which then didn't, and then having to suffer another 4 years of insane meltdowns and hissy fits🤣 from the hivemind.

At both ends of the USA, the travel industry has tanked. Both JFK and LAX report overseas arrivals are down by about 70%. International carriers - Iceland, Canada, Turkey, France and Brazil have cancelled or reduced flight routes.

 

Why would anyone want to visit the USA, when they are being treated like criminals at its borders?

 

Can you imagine what this is doing to the accommodation, transport and retail industries that regard travelers as their life support?
