A 17-year-old student was fatally attacked by a group of youths outside Nang Ram Market in Bang Sao Thong district, Samut Prakan, on 10 September. The victim, identified as Sutthimon, known as “Tang,” was riding his motorcycle to sit an exam when he was surrounded, stabbed multiple times and kicked to the ground. Emergency responders attempted CPR before rushing him to Bang Sao Thong Hospital, but he later died from his injuries.

Police said the victim sustained serious stab wounds, including two beneath the left ribcage, one on his right thigh, two on his left wrist and one in the middle of his back. Witnesses reported that the attackers showed no mercy even after the victim raised his hands in a plea for his life, striking him further until he collapsed in a pool of blood. The group then fled the scene, while bystanders documented vehicle details and attempted to help.

A friend of the victim, identified only as Mr To, said he and his classmates were riding to school when the attackers confronted them with knives. After initially chasing the group away, the students thought the conflict had ended. However, as Tang followed behind, his motorcycle was kicked over and he was repeatedly stabbed before he could get up.

Local shopkeepers and residents confirmed the brutality of the incident, with some saying they captured evidence to assist police investigations. The attackers, reportedly several in number, were dressed in work clothing and are suspected of working in nearby warehouses. Their aggressive approach in broad daylight left the community shaken.

The victim’s mother, 46-year-old Srisom, collapsed in grief at the hospital upon learning her only son had died. She described how that morning he had sent her a message asking for 40 baht to attend his exam and she transferred 50 baht despite financial difficulties. Between sobs, she explained that she had always warned him not to take part in unlawful activities and that the last message exchanged had become their final conversation.

Police said they have identified the suspects involved and are actively pursuing them for questioning and legal action.
