Retirement visa : Transfer to new passport

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have a non-immigrant O visa (retirement).
My passport was full (no more pages), so I had to get a new one.
What is the process to transfer the visa from the old passeport to the new one ?

Which form should I fill and what are the required documents ?

Thank you.

From your other posts seems you are located Bangkok.

Here is thread that outlines process.

Also in my post has link to required form.

Be aware that CW now requires bank book + update to check financial compliance.

Hopefully one day folk will post immigration office with their question.

How does that differ to Jomtien? I'll need to do mine in a couple months

I think Jomtien have their own form.

Not important they will hand it to  you.

Not aware of Jomtien requiring your bank book.

Think that's a CW stunt.

Just make sure you have it just in case.

They also made me update my bank book.

this is the form you need to fill out at Chaengwattana and it lists the copies etc on the back of it
It does not say you need to update your bank book BUT you definitely do need to do that 🙂

I can still recall my chat with the io that sits to the rear of L extension desks.

Me pointing to requirements on form  you posted.

Me: No need Bank Book.

IO: NEED.

agree as this same question has been submitted to the furom public almost weekly for the past couple of months.

When I did mine over a year ago, I just gave them my old and new passports and asked them to transfer visa information into the new passport. They took care of the form filling for me (bless 'em).

They also tried to get me to pay for it but changed their minds when I explained to them "It's a free service".

Which immigration office.

That service certainly would not occur at most offices.

And after them doing form + photocopies you baulked at a "tip"

The immigration office awas Buriram.

I am actually assuming there was form filling done by them because I didn't do it.

Maybe they didn't either but come-what-may my new passport was stamped up and all was well.

A "tip" is a gratuity so when it is demanded as a fee by imm. it don't get paid......

Do you actually understand how naive your post is..

There is a form for YOU to fill in and provide other required docs.

Listed earlier in thread.

You rock up with two passports and that's it?

No wonder immigration are sick of folk that don't supply required docs.

Embarrassing

Not in the least embarrassing to me and not naive.

I've told you what happened take it or leave it.

You don't make the rules and neither do I.

If immigration don't want me to fill out their form that's up to them.

Are you sober?

So your immigration office doesn't want you to fill out the forms. Along with required photocopies.

They rather do it for you.
