Don't think many Muslim women are refusing to have children.

What that has to do with pensioners being denied Medicare?

I recall that when Trump announced his tariff war, he claimed it would reduce the debt of the US, but now it turns out that the tariffs are actually used to cover additional losses, created by the tariff war.

While it is a good thing that they support the farmers, if there were no tariffs, the farmers wouldn't be in debt and wouldn't need subsidies.

Winning? No way!!

Trump tariffs could fund bailout for US farmers, agriculture secretary tells FT

(Reuters) - The Trump administration is drawing up plans to use tariff revenue to fund a program to support U.S. farmers, the Financial Times reported on Thursday, citing agriculture secretary Brooke Rollins.

The report follows pressure from farm groups after China stopped purchases of soybeans from the U.S. in their tit-for-tat trade dispute, and as tariffs have pushed up costs for fertiliser, machinery and other imported inputs.

n 2023, US farm subsidy payments, including commodity support and disaster relief programs, totaled over $16 billion from major subsidy programs, with a significant portion going to a few key states like Texas and Kansas. Total federal government agricultural subsidies were approximately $10.972 billion for the year according to Federal Reserve data. Key programs included Price Loss Coverage (PLC) and Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC), which support commodity prices and revenues, and programs that helped farmers affected by the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFA

As I thought. the government has subsidized farmers for years, so this is nothing new, yes China has shut the gate on USA soya, now getting it from Brazil, that will hurt a lot of farmers.

But the subsidy they get is a lot more than farmers in a lot of other countries.

What’s in the ‘One Big Beautiful Ugly Bill’ for Older Americans?

The bill sets new work requirements that can disqualify a person from enrolling in Medicaid and create additional red tape to show compliance.

Medicaid-eligible adults ages 19 to 64 who are applying for coverage, or who received coverage through the ACA expansion of Medicaid, would be required to work at least 80 hours per month or fulfill similar criteria (for example, participating in job training or community service). An

Isn't it obvious?

Medicare is funded primarily through federal payroll taxes. Ergo, no new workers, not sufficient taxes to maintain services for pensioners.

You mean the pensioners they have contributed to it all their working life, will get refused.

Sounds like MAGA

You are lying. No one that is qualified is being denied Medicare.

Everyone that is not committing fraud gets it.

You lie repeatedly that Medicare is being cut, and then you put up an article about Medicaid, a welfare program.

Is that your pants I smell burning?

5 minutes ago, CallumWK said:

The first thing you should realise is that the contributions pensioners make are nowhere near enough to cover what they end up claiming. This is the same the world over. Which is why every country has to go to the capital markets to borrow to help finance their pensions system.

So in reality pensioners are deferring payment of their own claims, and putting them on the shoulders of future generations.

Ergo, if future generations are not sufficient in numbers to carry this burden, this whole system collapses eventually.

So women not having enough children is quite a major issue for any country.

I knew it was a mistake to click on show this post.

I'm not an American so I confused Medicare with Medicaid.

Shall I remind you again of your MULTIPLE posts last week where you had to admit that you are to stupid to read a simple text?

Fair enough. You were not lying about Medicare being cut, you were mistaken about Medicare being cut, and this is you apologizing.

What if companies like Cadillac open a store where employees can spend their salaries on food and household items?

2 hours ago, Cameroni said:

Well, of course, but if you can afford a brand new Hyundai car, then you should be paying more, arguably, to make American manufacturing great again.

Or, you can opt for a beautiful Cadillac which suddenly looks a lot cheaper.

Up to you, Ka.

There no fully US car. Only around one third of a Cadillac car's components is made in the US and Canada. :coffee1:

https://www.carscoops.com/2025/03/how-much-of-your-car-is-really-made-in-the-usa/

So it means that Cadillac will have to pay tariffs for 2/3 of its components (by value). It also means that Cadillac cars that are exported will cost more, compared to cars assembled in another country.

Same for other producers.

Same for other producers with a significant share of exports.

Cadillac will likely get a carveout, and if they don't, the duty on imported parts will probably not be much in the total cost.

Any parts imported for export, will absolutely be exempt.

They can bring that work stateside

No, in other words, the whole idea of tariffs is to benefit domestic producers.

They will give then a time frame to repatriate the work or they will start being taxed, a bit more each year.
