Im sure there are multiple permutations, many of which would be tactical, but some strategic. For example, do we seize Kharg or destroy it, relying on our Gulf allies to make up production? Do we assist the UAE in seizing Musa and the Tunbs? Do we utilize troops from the Gulf States and Turkey to hold key areas after the 82nd takes, say, Tehran Airport? Maybe even Bander Abbas, sieze it and let the Gulf States hold it. Do we destroy Tehran? What progress is being made up on the Caspian? Notice how fast Azerbaijan was dropped from the Mullahs target list, even though Azerbaijan is an Israeli ally. Whats going on up there that would figure in a plan? How would the Chinese react to a seizure of Kharg? How is Putin reacting to the closure of the Caspian route? Any Euro country going to grow some balls to protect themselves.
