Local Hearing Aid Provider / Bangkok As Well

Featured Replies

Have any of you local residents purchased hearing aids in Hua Hin?  If so, what shop did you purchase them from and, if you don't mind, what was the cost?

I was in Hua Hin yesterday and while walking around, I stumbled on one shop and picked up a flyer that had only one manufacturer/brand.  The advertised price for the different models provided by the manufacturer ranged from very expensive to astronomical.  If you purchased hearing aids in Bangkok, what was your experience like.

I purposely avoided mentioning any company names and prices due to not knowing if doing so would get me put in a Thai jail cell.

Please disregard my post.  I found a place in BKK that has more variety and lower prices.

Before you spend a fortune......have you tried AirPods pro 2G (3G is out this week).

Need an iPhone as well......Settings: Head Phones Accommodations...Transparency mode.......sent my hearing aids back and just use my AirPods now.

Full bluetooth for music, calls etc

I wear Two Hearing aids purchased in Pattaya and Bangkok at varying prices, my experiences  have been very frustrating   with the sales staff in both locations, the staff in the shops are not trained Audiologists, they call them selves Technicians  but they know very little  of the workings of Hearing aids, The costs vary from the cheapest at 15,000b  (that was 2 Years ago) to another purchased at 35,000b. 4 Years ago

The Hearing aid centers in Thailand   wll only repair Hearing aids  purchased at their shop, & only if you have  been servicing that Hearing aid, no service means  no repair.. I have given up on buying  and repairing hearing aids in Thailand, I much prefer   to take a short break and  go to Singapore where u can find a qualified Audiologist  who speaks understandable english, & very knowledgeable  about the product they are selling

I bought mine with a guarantee from an audiologist franchise (Amplifon) in Europe. As well I did, because I had to send each of them to be repaired at one year interval. They're Starkey hearing aids, 2500 euro each side.

It's not the purchase price that's scary, it's thinking what happens if there's a hitch.

I hope Samsung soon comes up with airpods like Apple's. Apple airpods can be tuned according your audiometric test if I'm not mistaken. Someone on Youtube explained they performed better than ten times more expensive hearing aids!

Whatever you do let me give you a piece of advice: buy the ones with batteries, not the ones with a charger. Chargers are expensive and they introduce one more failure point. Plus, in case you need to send your hearing aids abroad for repair, hearing aids that work with a charger may get rejected by shipping operators like DHL because they contain a rechargeable battery, albeit a tiny one.
