Teen Stabbed to Death at Balloon Festival in Nakhon Ratchasima

An 18-year-old man was fatally stabbed at a balloon festival in Hua Thale, Nakhon Ratchasima, in the early hours of 22 September 2025. Police received the report at 00:10 and found the victim, identified only as Mr. A, with three stab wounds to his torso. He was immediately taken to Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The incident occurred during the final night of the event, which featured a walking street, riverside music, giant balloons, amusement attractions and market stalls. The victim and his girlfriend were entering the festival when three men, estimated to be aged 25–30, confronted them near the entrance by the wastewater treatment pond. According to surveillance footage and witness accounts, the suspects assaulted the victim with punches, kicks and a sharp weapon before fleeing on a motorcycle, reportedly saying, “You’re brave, don’t mess with my younger sibling.”

Authorities have identified the perpetrators and are actively pursuing them for questioning and legal action. Police emphasised the severity of the attack, which occurred in a public event attended by many festival-goers, raising concerns about safety at large gatherings. Emergency responders from Sawang Metta Korat provided CPR at the scene before the victim was transported to hospital.
