What is expiration date of my visa when I'm under consideration?

Featured Replies

- my 1 year non-o extension expired on 20/09/2025

- till 20/10/2025 I'm under consideration for a new 1 year extension

Now I have to do 90 days report. I'm not sure what date to put in "Stay visa expire" field.

So your 90 report just happened to be due now?

I would put 20/09/2026 for the question you asked.

My 90 days report is due 7/10/2025.

20/09/2025 - my latest visa expired

20/10/2025 - until then I'm under consideration for new extension

20/09/2026 - will be expiration of upcoming visa

Like I can see a valid argument for each of the dates to be my "Stay Visa Expire". 😳

A 30-day under consideration stamp effectively extends your permission of stay whilst your application is awaiting approval.

I would put 20/10/25, being the date given on the 30-day consideration stamp.

My IO Roi Et always reset the 90 day report date when issuing the new extension stamp, meaning a 90 day report is always due just before that extension is due for renewal again, which prevents the situation you find yourself in from happening.
I always apply to renew my extension, usually at least 30 days in advance, so a couple of weeks before my 4th 90 day report is due and for the previous ten years have told me to ignore that report, as they reset it when I pick up my new extension stamp.
However, this year they told me a change and I should proceed with submitting that next 90 day report.
Extension due 10th July, 90 day report due 29th June, applied for new extension 11th June.

I duly submitted that report due 29th June and was given a new 90 day report date of 27th Sept.
When I collected my new extension stamp, as usual they reset my 90-day report, giving me a new date of 30th November.
I was then surprised to receive an email reminder that my upcoming next report date was due on 27th September ???

I had to call in person to the IO to sort it out.
Appears when they reset my new report date as 30th Nov, they forgot to update the system as such.

You have an automated system, with manual interference, with the result being chaos.
Just as an extension cannot be granted beyond the expiry date of a passport, a 90-day report shouldn't be issued beyond the expiry date of your current extension, then this confusion wouldn't occur.

I'll try this. We will see.

My immigration won’t let me apply unless my visa is expiring in less than 30 days. 😃 They also strongly encourage that applications be submitted during the final week before expiration.

They will still accept applications ~2 weeks prior, but you get constant comments like why you are doing this to them, why you are complicating things, and why you couldn't just come the following week. 🙄

It won't  let you submit form with visa expiration date in the past.

So I opted out for "under consideration" period end (next month). Over upcoming visa end (next year).

Thats standard. At some offices CW, CM, Phuket you can do it up to 45 days prior.

Whats wrong with them. Which immigration office.

Why are you doing the 90 report at similar time as extension.

The two things are not related.

Perhaps just the way the dates turned out?

At one time my extension (retirement) lined up with 90 day report window.

As a result I made 2 bookings at CW.

I made the Report appointment first.

The io sent me away saying....

"Do extension first you only have 3 day left visa"

I went and did the extension and straight back to her for the report.

CM give your last 90 day to expire when your extension expires.

They've been doing this for the past 3 years.

They make their own rules!

I agree Jack, the problem being when Immigration manually interfere with the system.

Like the 90 day calendars.
CW now requires you to report online 14 - 7 days before the due date, so your 90 day reports become every 83 days.
Whereas other Immigration offices still operate on the original calendar, reporting 14 days prior up until the due date.

In any event, when reporting online, the new report date will always be from the date of approval, rather than the due date as it's an automated system.

My guess would be when you return to collect your new extension stamp, they will manually reset your next 90-day report date.

Not surprised, it wouldn't let you enter a past extension renewal date, so why issue a due report beyond that date in the first instance.
Interesting to know what your next report date will be if it's approved.

My application just go approved.

Conclusion: your visa expired, you are in "under consideration" period, you need to do a 90 days report - as "visa expiration date" use the end of your "under consideration" period.

you were indeed staying here on the "under consideration" stamp. Once you apply for a new extension and get that stamp it IS the stamp that lets you stay here and it is the expiration date you use

Glad it worked up, thanx for posting back too

The form TM.47 does not ask for a "visa expiration date", as far as I can see.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

They should have stapled a receipt in your passport giving notification of your next 90 day report date.

I would expect it be 90 days from 29/10/25, which would be 26th Jan 2026.

You are correct, the TM 47 form does not require it, but the online system does.
