Fisherman's village

Featured Replies

I was on a walk yesterday in Pattaya

Anyway I spotted a car which I took an instant shine too

FJ Holden ?

I started to run after the car which went into a "village of German /Dutch looking houses " up here near Jomtien on the main road

I don't know much about cars but I like older things , is this car Australian?

Beautiful Dutch houses in a village

I never knew it existed

Apparently called the fishermans village

I was the only one inside there appeared to be Dutch style houses as restaurants

But what about the car ?

Any idea what brand it is ?

That's the fake fisherman village at the top of Pratumnak Hill, not as popular as I expected.

Yes it's up here where I'm staying

Beautiful made lake with boats and beautiful crafted Dutch houses

The truck looks like a 1955 Chevy. North American, definitely not Aussie.  The fake village has been the topic of YouTube videos.

I wonder how that farang that was driving it brought it in ?

You're allowed to import a certain dollar value of goods when you retire to Thailand. The logistics would be via shipping container.  The truck may have been here for decades, or perhaps a replica.   One could also import it as parts and assemble them here.

US Military and Diplomats duty free import, they could import one vehicle per tour, if you extended, you could import another.
