A road crash in Surat Thani left seven people injured when a school bus carrying 39 passengers collided with a car and veered off the road. The incident occurred at 15:35 on September 30, 2025, in Kanchanadit district. Police, rescue workers and local volunteers responded immediately to assist those on board.

 

The crash took place near the Huai Sok U-turn on Southern Road in Moo 3, Thung Rang subdistrict. The vehicles involved were a white Scania bus, licence plate from Surat Thani and a MG car, licence plate from Surat Thani. The car’s front left side was damaged, while the bus ended up nose-first in roadside grassland.

 

The bus was carrying 37 students, 2 teachers, 1 driver, and 2 bus attendants. They were returning to their school in Na San after a trip to Khanom district. Witnesses reported that many of the children and staff appeared shocked by the incident, though most were unharmed.

 

Seven people sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. Emergency teams from Kanchanadit Rescue and Kusonsathasurat Thani Foundation provided first aid before transferring patients. The full extent of injuries has not been confirmed.

 

Authorities have begun an investigation into the cause of the accident. Police examined the scene and interviewed drivers and witnesses to determine how the bus and car collided at the U-turn. Mechanical inspections of the vehicles are also expected to follow. The crash again raises safety concerns about student transport in the region. Education officials are monitoring the situation.
