Kent’s ‘Reform Council’ putting up Council Tax.

Easy solutions evaded them:

How long have Reform been in charge of this council?  Since May?

Labour just spent £532,000 on moving the dot and changing the background color on the gov.uk website.

    Less than 5 % increase .

Isn't that about the same as the inflation rate?

Yes, because had the Reform council raised the council tax by a further 0.011% they would have had to hold a referendum on the raise.

The 4.989% is within the 5% threshold, and therefore does not require the County Council to hold a referendum.”

Copy DOGE didn’t deliver.

So, its not really a price rise , just keeping up with inflation .

I expect that ALL Councils will be having similar increases

Previous councils have probably pi ssed money up the wall, can't get that back, so will take years to improve things, at least they are trying rather than just BAU
