Twenty years a go as we worked in Berlin he said he had a cash flow problem and needed £10k now, I transferred the money to the account the same day, he needed it for a month but it took two months in the end, I knew he was good for the money. Six years later I had a short term cash flow problem, I needed £15k as I was short of that while buying a business, the next day I had the 15k, I paid him back later when the cash flow problem ended. So it is possible and safe for long term friends to help each other out as long as it all genuine.

October 16, 2025Oct 16 When you loan money, you have to be ready to lose the money. When you loan money to a friend, you have to be ready to lose both the money and the friend. Fortunately, it is “only money” and the person that stiffed you was never a friend. Best to find out early on, while it’s still only money.
