Peace deal agreed , The war is over

Featured Replies

"After three days of intense indirect negotiations in Egypt, US President Donald Trump says Israel and Hamas have "signed off on the first phase" of the 20-point peace plan he unveiled last week.

"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace," he posted on social media, without providing further details about what the first phase entails.

It comes two years and two days after the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others taken hostage."

No ceasefire in the war against Donald ?

  • I suspect the left will still find something to be outraged about. It would take a lot to fill in the void that this war has left ideologically in many peoples minds

I expect the pro Palestinians  will be out celebrating all across Europe this week-end , popping champagne corks and celebrating peace has come to Gaza and the war against Jews, I mean , the war against  Israel is over .

Singing and dancing euphorically in the streets after realising it wasn't  genocide after all .

Greta will go back her climate change protests and alot of posters will go back to their national socialist forums where they can hate on Jews with like minded people .

Sounds 'bout right Nick.

If there is such a thing as a lasting peace, of course.

Six months or so bodies will start turning up. The Mossad never forgets.

There is no peace deal until it happens, and nothing has happened yet. I doubt that Hamas can uphold the Gaza obligations.

- Hamas does not have all the hostages alive or dead. Some are held by militant groups like Islamic jihad. Others by criminal gangs who want a ransom to be paid.

- Hamas does not have control over some of the militant groups. There isn't a cohesive representative of Gaza.

- There are unexploded munitions that can and will detonate as people return to their local settlements. People will continue to die and the detonations will be presented as attacks.

- Groups will seek to profit from the aid that will enter. The black market and criminal enterprises will reappear. Building materials  intended for social infrastructure will be diverted to military use again.People will be angry

- 90%+ of  Gaza's water was self sourced, but the aquifier has been over used and is now running dry. Gaza does not have enough water to sustain its large population.

- The population will become restless 6 months from now because they will  expect the world to rush to their  support, and I expect that the promises of aid will be abandoned.

"The war is over".

Well, it's been 'over' many times since 1948. And, as many times before, a 'new' version of the '2-state solution' is to be tried. It will fail like the previous almost-attempts.

It no longer seems to occur to anyone that the only possible solution is a 1-state solution with peoples of all ethnic & religious origins of the region living together in harmony in a modern democratic state with equal rights for all (as partly & imperfectly already exists in Israel). I don't expect to see that happen in my lifetime ...

That is a lovely dream. Unfortunately, I cannot think of any examples of countries that have Muslim majorities and respect the rights of their minority communities, nor that respect womens/LGBT rights.   The only far fetched example would be Malaysia, but even that is debatable. Certainly nowhere in the Middle East or Africa.

If the Jews were put into such a country, their fate would be sealed. Which is why they will never allow it.  It is a sad irony that the Arab minority in Israel enjoys greater freedom than the Arab majorities of any countries around them.

As long as Palestinians would promise not to kill all the Jews and not to install sharia law or try to banish Jews from the Country .

Would definitely have to promise with no fingers crossed or anything dodgy like that though

You need to bone up on women's rights in your "far fetched" Malaysia.

You mean to say an Israeli’s word is worthless?

No honour?

This ‘Peace Plan’ is not a new version of the 2 State Solution.

It makes no commitment to a Palestinian State while imposing foreign rule of Palestine by an unelected body, the members of which have a pro-Israel history.

It’s a cease fire.

The war will continue at a later date.

Those who make much of the importance of independence and sovereignty of their own nation will understand why, though perhaps feign otherwise

Honour was killed off when the Eurotrash first starting killing jews, primarily women and children like the filthy cowards they are, it just took the Jews a while to catch up.

Besides, winning is honorable. Losing is dead. Shoes on the other foot now.

That should put DJT in line for the NPP next year.   When does Israel start building new settlements for Israelis in Gaza ???  :cheesy:

    The revolution is over .

Is this the war that Trump effectively caused when he moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and ignored Palestine with his so-called Abraham Peace Accords — deals that brought 'peace' to no one actually at war?

Unless he addresses the sovereignty of Palestine, his 'Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace' is just another can he’s kicking down the road.

He lit the fire — now he wants a Nobel for calling the fire brigade.

Palestinians need to be kept in a straight jacket for the foreseeable future .

Gaza will need to become an open air prison with every move being monitored and watched .

Well, both Israelis and Palestinians are extremely trustworthy and reliable peoples, as we have seen from past ceasefires, they always honour it for at least 2 weeks.

And the one prisoner who could conceivably lead Palestinians forward to live peacefully alongside the Israelis in a two-state solution - namely Marwan Barghouti - remains rotting away in an Israeli prison. The one Palestinian the Israeli right, including Netanyahu, truly fear.

Funny that.
