I find it annoying because the number of people implicated is insignificant. However, anytime one of them is involved, it elicits a mob response. On any given day, a Russian, or UK national is driving drunk or brawling, or an Australian or German is buggering a young boy or girl, or a Japanese or Korean is beating a prostitute, and Indian haggling with a ladyboy and so on. Yet, no one goes on a campaign of demanding they be kept out of Thailand or demanding that UK nationals not be allowed to drive in Thailand, or Australians forced to provide a  sex offence clearance certificate. We all know that these people are a small minority of their visitors. However, israelis get singled out because of the inherent bigotry of the old angry white men demographic. How about  Thailand not allow the entry of farang white males age 45 and older? It would reduce  alot of crime and  sex offences.

Congratulations on the best whataboutism deflection I have ever seen on this forum.

There are no signs banning all those nationalities you made up stories about.

These signs banning Israelis from businesses have nothing to do with the bigotry of older white men.
It is Thai business owners male and female, young and old that are having to put up these signs to protect their livelihoods.

The common theme with all these signs is they are asking Israelis not to enter their premises.

Nothing to do with racism or bigotry but all about their disgusting behavior.

wherever they are trouble follows, they are banned from many countries completely.

Yes, it does, a private business can decide to exclude whoever they want from their business, particularly those who apparently have a reputation for non-payment. do you SERIOUSLY not understand that?  Whether YOU think it is justified or not is irrelevant to that private business's policy.

That’s right Lou.

If Jingthing cares so much he should open a restaurant himself and give free food to Israelis.

My own dad used to be a tad against the Jews, for what reason I'll never know. When we would be driving down the road, and someone would be driving in front of us too slow, he would comment, "Look at his nose, must be a Jew". I never took up that thinking, knowing myself he was just pissed off at the driver because he was going too slow and it didn't matter who or what he was.

Your dad had a good point.

They are terrible drivers, a danger on the roads with their attitude.

A father is a very important role model in life especially for sons. You really should have listened to him, your life probably would have turned out better.

Always have to thrown in a shot at the end eh? My life turned out okay. I raised 5 children that are doing well, and soon another. Had a lot of fun hunting, fishing and working out. many friends, bucket list partially completed, soon to continue. Look back at your life and how it's turned out. You might want to reflect on that. Jews aren't bad drivers by and large. That's an assumption as you don't know who's driving a vehicle unless you know them personally. That would just be another prejudiced statement.

Actually it has everything to do with racism. Having trouble with a certain race or nationality and then thinking all are the same is ignorance...........image.jpeg.ef62a5477f266de6e38427c54e88349b.jpeg.

Israelis are not really a visible minority so while it would probably make them feel unwelcome to eat there after seeing the sign, the owner will have a lot of false positives if they actually try to enforce it.

I don't agree. Israelis are usually easily identifiable.

With many exceptions of course.

Ohh ok I though maybe there was a way of distinguishing just by looks.

I for one can't distinguish  an Israeli English accent as different to any other middle eastern English accent.

That story about being overrun in Pai and the illegal chabad house also sticks in my mind.

Pai wasn't overrun by Israelis  and the Chabad House was perfectly legal.  It had been granted permission to operate by the relevant Thai authorities and was found to be operating within Thai law.  The Pai hoax has been exposed in another thread.

20 hours ago, Evil Penevil said:

The whole hoax about an Israeli settlement in Pai was debunked in a thread earlier this year on AN.  The notion of a "large Israeli Jewish population" in Pai was based on false social media posts that claimed 30,000 Israelis had settled there.

That absurd claim was debunked by everyone from the then Prime Minister on down.  At every level, national, provincial and local, Thai government officials refuted the notion of a Jewish conspiracy to take over Pai.  All the nonsense points raised in this thread were already smashed seven-and-a-half months ago.

Unfortunately, some Thais and farang have fallen for this nonsense. Whether that is the result of ignorance or ill-will is hard to know, but I would guess it's mostly ignorance on the part of Thais in Pai.

PM scoffs at rumours of 'Israeli settlement' in Pai

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra yesterday dismissed online rumours that Pai district of Mae Hong Son province is home to some 30,000 Israelis, saying they are false.

"Hold on a moment," Ms Paetongtarn said. "We've already verified that this is not true," she said when asked by media if some Israelis viewed Pai as a new "promised land" and that more than 30,000 had settled in the district.

Anutin visits Pai, denies Israeli tourists taking over, calls claims exaggerated

Anutin further stated that concerns raised on social media and in news reports have been closely monitored by the Governor of Mae Hong Son. He confirmed that many of the issues discussed are exaggerated or did not actually occur.

There are no concerns regarding infiltration, threats to national security, or the establishment of foreign settlements. Authorities have verified that all visitors respect Thai laws, adhere to regulations, and do not pose a threat to the local community, allowing life in the area to continue peacefully, he said.    https://www.nationthailand.com/news/40046737

The article also revealed Pai District had 20 Israeli families who were permanent residents, mainly through marriage to Thai nationals.

PM, governor counter viral reports of Israeli resettlement in Pai

[Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has denied as groundless viral claims that Israelis have taken over Pai district in Mae Hong Son.  She also said reports claiming that signboards there stated 'No locals allowed' were incorrect.

Meanwhile the Mae Hong Son governor has contradicted viral online reports claiming that tens of thousands of Israelis have settled in the popular tourist district of Pai, causing a nuisance and irritating the locals.

No Israeli ‘Promised Land’ in Pai: Tourist police refute social media claims

"On Tuesday, Pol Lt Col Suwit Boonyaphen, an inspector of Mae Hong Son tourist police, refuted widely shared Facebook posts alleging that around 30,000 Jewish people had settled in Pai and built a Jewish synagogue.

"He clarified that the reported figure of 30,000 Israeli tourists refers to the total number of Israeli visitors over the past year, not a permanent settlement. On average, only 83 to 84 Israeli tourists visit Pai each day."

https://www.nationthailand.com/news/tourism/40046434

However, the 83 to 84 Israeli tourists per day was also wrong. The real figure is 200 to 300 Israeli in Pai per day on average.

The Thai cops investigated the Chabad House in Pai and found no violations of Thai law.  Mae Hong Son governor had said the same thing.

What?!

Israelis only speak English to others (poorly). They speak Hebrew amongst themselves.  The backpackers are Sephardic so no Yiddish. Occasionally you'll have an American tagging along that tries to out-jew them to prove his bona fides as a jew  ..those are worst and most annoying of all.

They are easily identifiable bc they look middle eastern, loud, noisy, annoying, in your face and constantly trying to bum something of you. moreover, they are always asking for anything they can get free or also borrow things they dont carry so as to cook special meals or do something related to their religion. I was at a gh in India the owner kindly let them cook. They didn't clean anything not even their plates. Typical

There are no MENA backpackers so by default this is easily identifiable profile. They also travel in very aggressive packs.

In Thai resorts you can pick them as the ones annoying everyone else, pushing in front of queues, arguing with staff and arguing about paying.

That is what this thread is about.

Their antisocial behavior in Thailand that annoys the Thais enough for them to say they don’t want or need their tourist dollars because they are not worth the drama.

And when called out on it they scream “anti semitism” .

Yeah, the behavior must be shocking for Thai.

Anti social is a perfect description. They don't give a flying F about anyone outside the tribe.

I'm absolutely repulsed by them. My blood boils simply with the sight of the smelly mob. All the years of BS and inconvenience I've had to deal with.

Looks like they have done shi+ in the apple pie. Thai government now seriously cracking down on nominee ownerships on gulf islands. That's serious money and they will probably entirely lose their investment. No matter no hard earned money bc it's all black money anyway 55555

Go Thailand!!

And smoking. Despite all the rules they have to smoke everywhere and blow smoke in your face and put the buts on the ground.

and order lovely staff around like they are lords of the manor. Bunch of punk kids
