  • Based on what? Her manifest incompetence in the Comey and James cases? Which suggests that her looks must be the reason why she was appointed to the position.

  • Halligan seems to be doing a good job.   Is it me or does Trump only hire the best looking women?

  • Indeed

"A federal judge has dismissed the criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James due to the prosecutor being unlawfully appointed. However, the Justice Department plans to appeal the decision, with some arguing that Comey is not "off the hook" yet and the charges could be refiled".

Right. It's Comey who should be feeling disgraced.

Interim US Atty,"Lindsey Halligan fires more prosecutors in key US attorney’s office".

"Halligan has moved quickly to assert her authority over the office, with several recent firings and departures, and she has become personally involved in courtroom proceedings — which is unusual for a US attorney —in the recent indictments of Trump foes James Comey and Letitia James".

More:

"Cleary sided with career prosecutors who opposed bringing the Comey case. She sat in a back row, not at the government table, when Halligan presented the indictment from the grand jury before the magistrate judge".

It appears that Ms. Halligan is dropping the hammer on loyalist of DOJ past. A worthy effort  trying to get Reasonable Prosecutors now a days.

Which is why the Comey and James indictments were dropped.  "Interim US Atty General" has now been made a legal precedent for getting out from under indictments.  Expect legal hearing galore over this.....

Darling of the left? You mean the guy who single-handedly handed the 2016 election to trump?

Expect Jim & Trish to dig deeper for representation this isn't over yet.

When you can't win on the facts attack the Prosecutor and with the help of the Judge that came to fruition .

Its a battle of past & present DOJ sycophants. Hopefully  Justice & Facts will prevail for these two darlings of the left, Jim & Tish. Look at the farleft New Republic gloating over the recent development.  The left has tainted the judicial system in their efforts to save Jim & Tish.

"The judge tossed the case “without prejudice,” meaning Trump could try to bring forward the cases again on the same charges. Halligan received her job after her predecessor, Erik Siebert, was pushed out of the role for refusing to prosecute Comey and James".

The old Blue Slip process  above was used in Trumps first administration when he hired Weiss to investigate Hunter.  Trump got thrown another curve by Kaine & Warner . Gov Youngkin probably didn't see Siebert deep loyalty to the past DOJ  past, neither here or there ,the good guys will appeal.

Because the original indictment was timely filed against Comey, DOJ has a six-month period to reindict, even though the statute of limitations would have run by now had Comey never been indicted.

 Google ai overview:

"The statement is correct: a timely indictment being dismissed "without prejudice" can allow prosecutors a six-month window to re-indict, even if the original statute of limitations has expired. However, Comey's attorneys have challenged the validity of the initial indictment, arguing that the final version was never presented to and approved by the entire grand jury, which would prevent re-indictment".

The prosecution already showed  the validity of the grand jury process. so good luck with that.

Grand jury properly voted on James Comey’s indictment, foreman claims in blow to defense: ‘Eliminates any doubt’

From Comey's response FOLLOWING the last DoJ response:

Amended MOTION to Dismiss Indictment based on Fifth Amendment, Rule 6, and Grand Jury Violations  (Entered: 11/21/2025)

First, the case should be dismissed because the grand jury never approved the operative
indictment. “A grand jury may indict only if at least 12 jurors concur.”

Here, the grand jury voted to reject the only indictment that the government presented to it.
Instead of presenting the grand jury with a revised indictment, Ms. Halligan signed a new two-count indictment that the grand jury had never seen or voted on. Because at least 12 jurors did not “approve the actual indictment,” there is no valid indictment of Mr. Comey.

The government’s attempt to prosecute Mr. Comey without a valid “indictment of a Grand Jury” violates Mr. Comey’s Fifth Amendment rights.

And because no indictment has been “found . . . within five years” of Mr. Comey’s alleged offenses, the statute of limitations on those offenses has expired.

Solution is easy: appoint her.

Jim may celebrate today but Bondi is adamant that Halligan  is Golden on appeal.

Dig deeper Mr. Comey ,facts and truth will win the day.

Footnote from Judge Currie's Comey ruling:

Three days after Congress enacted the 1986 law, an Office of Legal Counsel (“OLC”)
memorandum authored by then-Deputy Assistant Attorney General Samuel Alito concluded the statute does not allow “the Attorney General [to] make another appointment pursuant to [subsection (a)] after the expiration of the 120-day period.” Memorandum from Samuel A. Alito, Jr., Deputy Assistant Att’y Gen., Off. of Legal Couns.,

“The statutory plan,” Alito reasoned, “discloses a Congressional purpose that after the expiration of the 120-day period further interim appointments are to be made by the court rather than by the Attorney General

I do enjoy LMAO with his posts. i bet the family in US disowned him.

The last items of Judge Currie's ruling Comey-version:

3. The Attorney General’s attempts to ratify Ms. Halligan’s actions were ineffective and are hereby set aside

6. The power to appoint an interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 546 during the  vacancy lies with the district court until a U.S. Attorney is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate under 28 U.S.C. § 541

-- which some suggest means per Judge Currie's ruling the position of US Attorney is vacant and the judges could appoint an interim TODAY

"There's a catch-all statute that will give DOJ 60 more days after the Supreme Court decision to re-indict Comey, and therefore, it wouldn't be in violation of the statute of limitations. This saving statute will protect them in this situation. So the case would not be time-barred against Comey at all," Fishwick said"

But others expressed skepticism that DOJ would ultimately prevail given that many of the other issues already present in the case would once again resurface.

“These guys are not a group to take the hint, so they’ll probably try and move forward with it again, one way or the other,” Ivey Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-Md.), a former prosecutor said.

“But I think ultimately these are losing cases, and that’s going to be the end result.”

Uncertainty grips US attorney’s office in Virginia after judge tosses James Comey and Letitia James cases

Nov 26, 2025 -- “There’s panic over what to do,” one person close to the Alexandria, Virginia, prosecutors’ office told CNN about making moves in criminal matters in the wake of Monday’s ruling.

Top Justice Department officials spent Tuesday debating possible courses for their appeal to take.

The Deputy Attorney General’s Office was still giving little to no legal guidance on the Department’s thinking as of Tuesday afternoon about how to proceed. The thinking divided into a few possible paths forward: Appeal both cases; or attempt to re-indict Comey or James or both.
