NB AS of now there is not yet any appeal other than Ms. Bondi 6 days ago saying there will be an immediate appeal.

  • Based on what? Her manifest incompetence in the Comey and James cases? Which suggests that her looks must be the reason why she was appointed to the position.

  • Halligan seems to be doing a good job.   Is it me or does Trump only hire the best looking women?

Trey  Gowdy bringing the receipts on Comey, and theres absolutely still a window to indict Comey again and a appeal of dropping the current prosecutor.

"He is so blind to the Irony ,no one did more to destroy the DOJ than Jim Comey"

He targeted a presidential candidate and a sitting president, he assigned agents riddled with bias to investigate his political enemies".

A judge that has half a brain and relies on the facts in the case. trump provided those in his own statements about bringing charges against Comey and James and others.

You really are demented. Has old age caught up with you and your posts reflecting how out if touch with reality you are?

Yes -- after the DOJ WINS at the Supreme Court.

And even if the DOJ prevails at the supreme Court, the fact is that it still has  extraordinarily weak cases against Comey and James to contend with.

Jim got caught lying to Congress.

Actually, the DOJ got caught making it up that Comey lied to Congress. Briefly, Comey was asked by Cruz if he had asked McCabe to leak confidential data. Comey replied he hadn't. But the  DOJ is claiming that Comey denied that he had authorized Daniel Richmond to leak information when in fact, Senator Cruz was asking about McCabe. Moreover, there was no leak by Comey to Richmond. He did ask Richmond to defend his (Comey's) actions to the press but there was no wrongdoing. No leak of confidential information.  Just one reason among several that this prosecution is destined to crash and burn.

DC judges  strike again . It does seem odd they won't allow evidence that proves the DOJ case.

The Judge's Ruling
U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly granted Richman's request for a temporary restraining order on December 7, 2025, pending a full review. She found that Richman was "likely to succeed on the merits of his claim that the Government has violated his Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable searches and seizures".

Key aspects of the ruling and legal concerns include:

Warrantless Search: Prosecutors reportedly conducted a new, warrantless search of the computer image in 2025 for the new case against Comey, which likely violated constitutional protections.

Scope of Warrants: A magistrate judge had previously noted that the original search warrants did not authorize the seizure of evidence related to the specific charges in the new Comey indictment.

Illegal Retention: The government appears to have retained a complete copy of all files on Richman's personal computer long after the original investigation was closed, rather than just the information permitted by the original warrants.

Leftist Judicial activism is preventing the facts from goin to trial.Along comes a famous former SCOTUS staffer to sort it all out.

"In South Carolina, Clinton-appointed Judge Cameron Currie — handpicked by a Biden-appointed judge — wrongly disqualified Eastern District of Virginia U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan, the bold and fearless prosecutor who had secured an indictment against former FBI Director James Comey for lying and obstruction of a Senate investigation into his politicization, weaponization, and corruption of the intel agencies and law enforcement to go after political enemies and protect political allies. The government is appealing that decision to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  Now, another Clinton-appointed judge in the District of Columbia, Colleen Kollarr-Kotelly, has interfered even more egregiously with the government’s case".

Trump pushes for top prosecutor nominee Halligan after judge tosses Comey, James cases
Updated Thu, Dec 11 20253:03 PM EST

President Donald Trump is pushing a bid to get the Senate to confirm Lindsey Halligan as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

President Donald Trump is pressing to get Lindsey Halligan confirmed as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, weeks after criminal cases against his foes James Comey and Letitia James were dismissed because of Halligan’s involvement in their prosecutions.

But her nomination faces a likely fatal obstacle from the tradition of so-called blue slips, which Republican senators refuse to abandon despite Trump’s demands.

Halligan on Wednesday submitted a 28-page questionnaire to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is responsible for vetting U.S. attorney picks. It was the first action on her nomination since Trump formally sent it to the Senate on Sept. 30.

The facts are being fought tooth & nail using technicalities &  leftist judges by Comey's team. The matter of the accused, Comey's purgering testimony  is still being pursued .

Google ai overview:

"The Department of Justice (DOJ) has indicated its intent to continue pursuing a case against former FBI Director James Comey, despite a judge recently dismissing the initial indictment. The original charges were dismissed because the federal judge ruled that the U.S. attorney who brought the case, Lindsey Halligan, was unlawfully appointed".

Because maybe they feel chances of getting Ms. Halligan confirmed by the Senate are better than their winning her disqualification case on appeal which ain't sayin' much.

Judge orders Lindsey Halligan to explain why she's still serving as US attorney after previous ruling against her 07JAN2026

NBC NEWS -- A federal judge Tuesday ordered Trump ally Lindsey Halligan to explain why she continues to call herself the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia even though another judge determined in November that she had been unlawfully appointed to the position.

U.S. District Judge David Novak * of Richmond issued a three-page order demanding to know why Halligan is still serving in the post. Halligan, who unsuccessfully prosecuted former FBI Direct James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, is also referred to as U.S. attorney by the Justice Department in official documents.

The judge's order is unusual because he issued it on his own, not at the request of defense attorneys. It came in a case involving a carjacking and attempted bank robbery suspect who was indicted last month.

Trump-appointed prosecutor who pursued indictments against the president's foes is leaving post

from AP Jan 20, 2026

Lindsey Halligan, who, as a hastily appointed Justice Department prosecutor, pursued indictments against a pair of President Donald Trump's adversaries, is leaving her position as her months-long tenure has now concluded, Attorney General Pam Bondi said Tuesday night.

Novak, who was appointed to the bench by Trump during the Republican president's first term in office, chided Justice Department leadership for what he suggested was an improperly antagonistic defense of Halligan by Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in an earlier court filing.

“Ms. Halligan’s response, in which she was joined by both the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General, contains a level of vitriol more appropriate for a cable news talk show and falls far beneath the level of advocacy expected from litigants in this Court, particularly the Department of Justice,” Novak wrote.

Interim US Atty,"Lindsey Halligan fires more prosecutors in key US attorney’s office".

"Halligan has moved quickly to assert her authority over the office, with several recent firings and departures, and she has become personally involved in courtroom proceedings — which is unusual for a US attorney —in the recent indictments of Trump foes James Comey and Letitia James".

More:

"Cleary sided with career prosecutors who opposed bringing the Comey case. She sat in a back row, not at the government table, when Halligan presented the indictment from the grand jury before the magistrate judge".

It appears that Ms. Halligan is dropping the hammer on loyalist of DOJ past. A worthy effort  trying to get Reasonable Prosecutors now a days.

Relax ,a minor bump in the road , who would of thought the Left would deny a POTUS the right to appoint US prosecutors.

Because of their extreme desires to thwart a POTUS the rights afforded to him by the Constitution,It ain't finish for those who are supporting & skirting lying to Congress.

Also on Tuesday, the (East VA) chief judge of the court solicited applications for a court-appointed successor to Halligan.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche suggested on social media that Trump would fire any replacement named by the court.

This is a remarkable demonstration of ignorance. The Constitution does not Grant a president the right to appoint US attorneys without the approval of the Senate.

The law does allow the president to appoint a tempory US attorney for one 120 day period. But that's it.

Anyway, riclag's post is instructional in that it shows how ignorance and support for Trump or symbiotic.

Seems to me -- as per Todd Blanche saying there would be a stalemate if the court appoints any new interim US Prosecutor -- everything grinding to a halt in the District is in Comey's favor.
