Did a Thai woman ever put toothpaste on your toothbrush for you?

Featured Replies

This has been a bit of folklore like getting a letter claiming that the water buffalo has died for at least 40 years.

It seems like a very odd thing for someone to do, leaving the toothpaste out all night.

Has this ever happened to you?

  • Bingo! I read this too! In the book "Hello My Big big Honey".   I would not be surprised if that folklore derived from that book.   To be fair that book was quoting actual letters

  • My wife has been putting toothpaste on my toothbrush for the past 40 years, but it is always too small an amount. As I appreciate the gesture, I have never said anything.

  • I share my partner's toothbrush. I use hers to clean those hard to reach bits on my bicycle. I don't tell her though.   Wouldn't dream of letting her use my toothbrush though.

NO. But on the subject of toothbrushes, would you share yours with the GF?

You will kiss open mouthed after a BJ, go down on her, but share your toothbrush........no way! 555

To be fair that book was quoting actual letters of men, and their Thai gfs, so it may be true.

But no, I've never had that happen. I have had a breathtakingly beautiful 24 year old, who competed in Miss Grand, do a puzzle of 10,000 tiny pins containing a photo of my face and her face, and then decorate it lovingly with flowers. Now hangs on my wall.

That's about the most active and surprising thing a Thai girl did for me, apart from sexual perversions.

No, it has not. You know, some know how to choose them, and some don´t.

A book deserving of its own thread. I must’ve given away 20 copies of it. It that book that created the water buffalo has died myth that young passport bro’s repeat to this day.

The cutie on the cover supposedly used to pose outside of  Nana  Plaza holding the book. So said stick man back in the day anyway.

It really is a fun book to read, also because it is based on real letters of course.

I suspect a window to a different time.

Those bar girls have now been replaced by Dating App freelancers, and it's now more about extracting maximum resources, than providing real value in return.

Feminism and social media apps have changed the landscape I think.

They always wanted your money. It’s just now that they can finally get at it.

Has feminism ever prevented you from a single sexual encounter in your entire life?

Me? No.

Feminism stayed the same. Men just got thirstier. Only one side of this equation is solvable.

Yes, she actually has but is cheap charlie not enough toothpaste on it for me.

To begin with, yes she did. I just thought she was trying to tell me something...

Oh I forgot one thing!

In a seafood restaurant she started to peel all my prawns for me. That was quite touching. Though it turned out her mother had told her to do it.

No, I meant the attitude of women has now changed markedly. The same girl that peeled the prawns for me told me I had to do housework and that now women and men are equal.

Without western feminism, it is inconceivable any woman would have displayed this attitude.

And this also informs the behaviour of women generally now, in terms of how they expect to be treated.

Big baby, it's YOUR cock she has had in her gob.

Do you ask her to brush and mouthwash before any further action?

you may be mistaking modernization with feminism.

if they never really wanted to peel the prawns for you, and then they eventually stopped, that’s more of a good thing than a bad thing.

I either like the person and the physical chemistry, or I don’t.

Complicated social forces never enter into it.

Same. It was nice but also a little uncomfortable at the same time because I wasn't used to it and of course, like you said, it eventually stops once they know they have you. I think you won't get that same treatment as a foreigner from Thai ladies even at the start of any kind of relationship now.

There was a time when feminism was part of modernity. It's an interesting question whether that's still the case, or whether we've entered a post-feminist modern phase.

But anyway, social forces always come into play, if they shape her perceptions and thus how she evaluates you. To think you're insulated from feminism is incorrect I think.

I do agree of course that other factors are more important, but it does play a role.

Interestingly the girl that peeled the prawns, had replied at the very beginning that she was not fond of feminism. Women always do that at the start. I just verified it by asking another beautiful 24 year old I'm writing to, i'd asked her what she thought of feminism, she too said "I am ok with everything, I don't like conflict". But of course, after a year the girl who was peeling prawns was saying she wants you to do housework and men and women are equal. So the truth only comes out after a long period of time.

I'm okay with not having my prawns peeled of course, but I would not be able to go long term with a hardcore feminist I think. Our worldviews would not align substantially for a long term rel.

I only really have the two requirements left at my age:

Good looking and into me.

I will definitely trade some good looking for an extra portion of into me.

My current candidate is probably the best looking Thai woman that I am ever capable of getting. I think she knows that too.

Modernization or feminism on that insight?

Breathing will suffice.

I am probably a year out from agreeing with you 100%

Maybe make that nine months.

King Charles - before, when he was a Prince - got his toothbrush laden with paste every time. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

Surely this is almost a wedding pledge in Thailand. There are certain things a Thai wife must be good at.  The toothpaste thing. Making a decent cup of rosy. And cleaning the mud from the flip-flops.

Expectations are only disappointments that have yet to come true.

Give me the sex and skip the bowing and scraping.

They forget about the sex, but up the road you are def Going to bepaying and then some For that bit of prawn peeling theater.

My wife has been doing it everyday for the past 25 years and if I happen to be in the bathroom first, I automatically put toothpaste on hers.

At first I thought it was weird and asked why she did it and she replied that it was a natural thing to do when she already had the toothpaste in her hands.

Well, that's the sad truth, ultimately the man is more likely by far to be the one that pays more.

So we definitely need to get all we can, sexually, and in all other ways. That's certainly what women do, and we will pay more than they do almost always. Not always, but almost always.

So what would you do if she has views that are totally out of whack with our own? How could you live with a person that, say was, a Christian fundamentalist and said grace at every meal? Would that not get incredibly annoying long term?

Sticking to what women should do, and what men should do, is what made humans top doggies of the animal world. And quite right too.

We don't want our women going to war do we? We don't want them mountaineering do we? We don't want them doing oil changes on the pickup, do we?

We want them at home, looking after the family. Looking after their man. Some gardening is OK.

Men knitting their own socks? Men doing the washing up?

Let's return to the days when women did nursing. Did secretarial work. Looked after the family. Cleaned the house. Knitted their men's socks.

It's all gone to pot. I blame computers.
