Thai immigration authorities released the final image of Belarusian model Vera Kravtsova before she left Thailand, challenging claims she was abducted while in the country. The photo and accompanying data are aimed at refuting assertions linked to her subsequent murder in Myanmar. Kravtsova was reportedly involved in horrific events in Myanmar, including kidnapping and demands for ransom.

The 26-year-old model entered Thailand on September 12, expecting to work in the country, and later departed for Myanmar via a Thai Airways flight on September 20. Beliefs that she was abducted in Thailand arose after international reports suggested she was tortured and forced into scams once in Myanmar. However, Thai officials, using biometric tracking and CCTV footage, have confirmed she left of her own accord without evidence of coercion.

Police Lieutenant General Cherngron Rimphidi spoke on behalf of Thailand's Immigration Bureau, asserting the claims of Kravtsova's abduction in Thailand are false. Footage from Suvarnabhumi Airport showed Kravtsova passing through passport control without issue. “From the footage, she was not forced or escorted. She left Thailand on her own,” said Cherngron, emphasizing that any criminal activity occurred after she entered Myanmar.

In broader terms, Thai police are addressing wider concerns about human trafficking, especially involving cases where individuals are led into scams after transiting through Thailand. New measures are being implemented at airports and land borders to prevent similar incidents. These include screening interviews, mandatory accommodation reporting, and increased border monitoring.

Since the beginning of the year, over 34,000 individuals have been denied entry due to suspicions related to visa-exemption scams and trafficking risks. Police affirm ongoing efforts to maintain safety, with a strong commitment to disproving false narratives about systemic foreigner abductions in Thailand.

Key Takeaways

  • Thai authorities released the last image of the model before she left for Myanmar.
  • CCTV footage negates claims of Kravtsova's abduction in Thailand.
  • Thailand is enhancing border security to combat human trafficking risks.

Cutting all flights to / from both Myanmar and Cambodia would seem to be a good logical step at this point.

Yes, no one goes to those countries nowadays.

They do and the number of flights between Thailand and Cambodia doubles in the high season.

Cutting them off seems like a logical move.

Thailand is deemed as a base for all these neighboring scam centers.

But this lady does not look like the common profile of scam center recruits. Because the scam centers target Asians, it will be meaningless for them to recruit a westerner. Looks more like she is in the flesh trade, and it turned bad for her somehow. RIP.

But the leaky borders are still in use.

I'm guessing this Belarusian model did all her due diligence on her destination before she left:

Authoritarian Regime/Dictatorship = just like home

Bad international reputation = just like home

Travel Advisories: Avoid =  just like home

in her case, if it feels like home, don't go there...

Why is her face blurred ?

I found it slightly difficult to confirm her identity as she appears to be missing her face in these photos.

These Burmese scam centres are protected by the very people that Thailand colludes with, the Burmese Junta and to a lesser extent China.  And the world just looks on as these scam centres are stealing millions from honest people around the globe and the beneficiaries are the illegally instated Burmese Military, lots of Chinese business man and some Thai elites!!

What a disgrace and what has humanity become!!

History is repeating itself, remember Thailand is pretty much in the centre of the Golden triangle flanking Cambodia & Myanmar with the chinese just a hop away to the north.

China government does not like these scam centres in Myanmar, google: China sentences 11 members of mafia family to death

If the poor girl is deceseasd why is her face blurred out? She's not going to sue!

Not western in the strict sense, but most of them probably will be referred to as "farang" in Thailand.

Myanmar made the BBC news a few days ago. They showed literally thousands of condo looking buildings going the whole length from North to South Myanmar. They said built for the junta. They had proof of a massive call center program from call centers to all sorts of online scams.

This must be making millions of $ a day.
It doesn’t surprise me that they need different nationalities to work these scams. Scams are rife all over the world, not only the EU and US. The accents have got to be good otherwise it wouldn’t work so well.
Also , the places catering to prostitution along the Thai border are well known locally and to the Thai Authorities. Not the sort of “ normal “ ( for lack of a better word) you find in Thailand and around Asia . I’m sure that the blonde blue eyed girls are valued .
Is it impossible to stop all flights and illegal borders, I suppose so unfortunately.

Just animals. On par with those Pol Pot experiments' victims.

because she's drop dead gorgeous none could look at any other woman after.... Nah!

because she's not a freekkin' model! she's just another young eastern european female who can't stay out of hype )

If that is the case - and if it was so widely covered, then why are her photos blurred? Why can't we see what her facial expressions are in those photos?

That would be more comforting to her family, yes?
