'Morally-Corrupt' Labour: grooming gangs cover-up

Nigel Farage has accused Prime Minister Keir Starmer of covering up a grooming gangs scandal, following a Daily Express expose. Farage suggested that Starmer might delay or undermine the inquiry until after the next election, labeling the situation a "last straw" for the Labour government. This accusation arises amid increasing pressure on Starmer over the handling of the inquiry, alongside an investigation revealing significant grooming gang activity in London.

The Metropolitan Police recently shifted their stance, acknowledging many investigations into grooming gangs after previously denying their existence. During Prime Minister’s Questions, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch confronted Starmer, accusing him of a cover-up and calling for the dismissal of safeguarding minister Jess Phillips. The situation intensified after four women quit the Home Office victims’ panel, claiming ministers attempted to dilute the inquiry's scope.

Badenoch highlighted comments from survivor Fiona Goddard, who doubted the credibility of the government's inquiry. Starmer reassured that the inquiry would not be watered down, promising a thorough examination of the offenders' ethnicity and religion. He invited resigned panel members to return, maintaining the inquiry's significance and integrity. Starmer defended Phillips, citing her extensive experience in combating violence against women.

Key Takeaways

  • Farage and Badenoch accuse Starmer of covering up the grooming gangs inquiry.
  • Four panel members resigned, questioning the government's commitment to the inquiry.
  • Starmer insists the inquiry remains robust, supporting safeguarding minister Jess Phillips.

The UK's biggest liar has spoken.   What we can read from this is that if he doesn't manage to delay it indefinitely that the inquiry will be watered down, and will not be a thorough examination of the offenders ethnicity and especially not their religion.
