exit thailand the last day of your valid stamp

Featured Replies

Let's say you're about to exit thailand but the flight is cancelled and it is the last day of your valid stamp in your passport, what happens? Are there any options? Just curious to know

You can go to immigration and apply for an extension. If you do not qualify for an extension, they might still give you a 7 day "extension denied, you must leave Thailand" stamp.

Most likely not fined however still will have a stamp showing one day overstay.

Not a big deal.

If your flight is cancelled and you fly out the next day you wouldn't pay for an overstay because there is no fine for overstays of under 24 hours when you fly out, you just get a thai language only stamp that says "overstay under 24 hours fine waived".
