A Thai man, Thossaphon, was reported to have injured his girlfriend’s employer, Nattapong, at a restaurant in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok on October 20. This occurred after Thossaphon became angry when his girlfriend, identified as A, borrowed 50 baht from him. The victim filed a complaint following the assault, where Thossaphon allegedly threw a rock and issued repeated threats.

 

The confrontation unfolded around 11:40 am when Thossaphon, after arguing with his girlfriend, began shouting and insulting locals. Nattapong attempted to de-escalate the situation but faced further aggression. Thossaphon, suspected to be under the influence, threatened to use a firearm and harm his girlfriend with acid before assaulting Nattapong with a rock.

 

A, the girlfriend involved, explained she had initially asked Thossaphon for a loan, which led to his anger. Upon arriving at her workplace and offering the money, she refused it, having already received funds from Nattapong. A disclosed her belief that Thossaphon's behavior was driven by jealousy and described him as violent and potentially bipolar.

 

She recounted frequent past assaults and expressed her attempts to leave the relationship, which were unsuccessful. Despite sharing living costs and assisting Thossaphon financially, A declared she would not return to the relationship. Police have issued an initial summons for Thossaphon, with further legal actions pending his response.
