Shingles vaccination lowers risk for heart disease, dementia, death

October 20, 2025

"ATLANTA — There is more evidence that shingles vaccination significantly decreases the risk for heart disease, dementia and death among people aged 50 years or older with herpes zoster infection, according to data presented at IDWeek.

“Shingles is really more than just a rash,” Ali Dehghani, DO, doctor of internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, said during a press conference. “It seems to perturb the body in a way that puts the heart and the brain at serious risk, and it does that probably via inflammation, [which] has been revealed in prior studies.”

...

The only currently licensed shingles vaccine in the United States is Shingrix (GSK), which was approved by the FDA in 2017 and recently made available in a simplified prefilled syringe for easier administration. The CDC recommends the vaccine for all adults aged 50 years or older and anyone 19 years or older with a weakened immune system, even if they have had shingles previously or received a previous shingles vaccine, Zostavax (Merck), which was discontinued in 2020. [emphasis added]

...

Overall, the study showed that prior vaccination was associated with “significantly lower” risk for all-cause mortality (HR = 0.586; 95% CI, 0.53-0.647), major adverse cardiovascular events (HR = 0.787; 95% CI, 0.75-0.827) and dementia HR = 0.839; 95% CI, 0.772-0.913), the researchers reported."

Nonsense!

I'll tell you what will reduce the risk of '',,,,heart disease, dementia and death among people aged 50 years or older with herpes zoster infection,,,,.''

And its nutritious food, clean water, fresh air, exercise and staying away from unnecessary medical interventions, drugs and pills.

Conclusions- First paragraph.

In this first comprehensive study, we utilized a large-scale, population-based, nationwide cohort database in South Korea to investigate the association between live zoster vaccination and subsequent cardiovascular outcomes. Live zoster vaccination was associated with lower risks of overall cardiovascular events...

National Foundation for Infectious Diseases:

"The chance of getting shingles increases with age, which is why shingles vaccination is recommended for all healthy adults age 50 years and older. Shingles vaccine is also recommended for adults age 19 years and older who have weakened immune systems because of disease or therapy. Children can get shingles, but it is not common.

...

Burden

  • About 1 out of 3 people in the US will develop shingles during their lifetime
  • Half of the population who lives to age 85 will experience shingles
  • Approximately 1 million people get shingles in the US each year
  • Up to 4% of people who get shingles are hospitalized for complications. Adults age 65 and over and people with weakened or suppressed immune system are more likely to be hospitalized.

Prevention

There is a safe, effective vaccine available to help prevent shingles. Getting vaccinated is the best way to reduce your chance of developing shingles or reduce your chances of long-lasting pain if you do get shingles."

"...live zooster vaccination,,,"? What!? IMO, nonsense. Not saying the collection of data is nonsense; just the study itself. And the theme is; better health with the needle.

And I'll tell you why Sir.

Because they are ''Live zoster vaccination was associated with lower risks of overall cardiovascular events." Should have asked me. Saved them some money. You cannot poison the body to good health. Or even improved health.

Lower risks! I take it they mean a cardiovascular event that is not positive? Or have I got that wrong?

This vaxx for the betterment of humanity is one of the mainstays of the 'Germ Theory'. IMO, it is anti-science as well as being anti-nature.

If you had shingles before, a resurgence is/was a rather common adverse side-effect of taking the Covid-19 jab.

But no worries > we have another jab to suppress shingles.

Keeping on poisoning yourself to achieve Good Health is the way to go, that is if you believe the lies from the medical mafia and are willing to bet your health on supporting them and their fat bank-accounts.

Interesting that correlations that go the right way are called "causative" while those that go the wrong way are derided as "coincidences".

I'm not claiming that they're wrong.  Just that they're not consistent.

i took shingles vaccine just 3 days ago, i cant bear any more pain.

the doctor did say there were hints it may protect against dementia, but needed further investigation,

it is established it helps against heart attack, but no vaccine is 100 even against the thing it is intended for

I'm sure not too many reasonable people think the vaccines contribute to 'Good Health' other than to largely prevent a lot of 'Bad Health'.  Get a grip on reality.

Im all for it seeing my mom going through dementia in her last years and how quick it escalated the last 12 years even we knew 5 years ago when we started to notice it.

Is there a vaccine, with boosters, to shield the AN members of your almost daily propaganda for the pharmaceutical industrial complex?  If so, I'll take that vaccine 🤣

OBTW, are you on Bill Gates' payroll?

If any AN member does get a rash as in pic. Take no medicine. Just dab the area with a little Witch Hazel every 3 hours or so.

Alternatively go see a medical professional.

What your suggesting with witch hazel -- which is one of several potential home treatments -- might help reduce the discomfort of the skin lesions associated with shingles.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/shingles-scabs-treatment

But, it does NOTHING for the more serious symptoms of shingles:

Long-term nerve pain

"The most common complication of shingles is long-term nerve pain called postherpetic neuralgia, or PHN.

PHN occurs where the shingles rash was located, even after the rash clears up. It can last for months or years after the rash goes away. PHN is extremely painful and can interfere with daily life."  [emphasis added]

Or even the other more minor symptoms:

"In addition to the common rash, symptoms of shingles can also include:

  • Fever
  • Headaches
  • Chills
  • Upset stomach"

https://www.cdc.gov/shingles/signs-symptoms/index.html

Fortunately, no one with any sense should be taking their medical advice from you.

With shingles, NOT "take no medicine." And NOT "alternatively" about consulting a doctor...

I Think I Have Shingles. Now What?

Treatment

"If you think you have shingles, contact your primary care physician. They can determine if you need an antiviral medication to shorten the life of the virus, as well as any medications for pain. [emphasis added]

"Antivirals are most effective when taken within 72 hours of your outbreak, so it's really important to seek medical care within that window," says Mohammad S. Bashir, MD, a primary care physician at Northwestern Medicine. "Far too many times, patients will come in five or seven days after they notice their rash. At that point, it's too late for an antiviral to have significant effect on the duration of the virus."  [emphasis added]

If you have blisters near your eye, seek care immediately. Shingles around the eye, also known as herpes zoster ophthalmicus, can affect your eyelid, eye surface and deeper parts in your eye. If it's left untreated, it can cause permanent damage to your cornea and swelling of the retina, which can lead to glaucoma and vision loss."  [emphasis added]

Northwestern Medicine

And likewise from the Mayo Clinic:

When to see a doctor

"Contact your health care provider as soon as possible if you suspect shingles, especially in the following situations:

  • The pain and rash occur near an eye. If left untreated, this infection may lead to permanent eye damage.
  • You're 50 or older. Age increases your risk of complications.
  • You or someone in your family has a weakened immune system. This may be due to cancer, medications or chronic illness.
  • The rash is widespread and painful."

AND

Early treatment with prescription antiviral drugs may speed healing and lower your risk of complications. These drugs include:

  • Acyclovir (Zovirax)
  • Famciclovir
  • Valacyclovir (Valtrex)

...

Talk with your health care provider or pharmacist about benefits and potential side effects of any drugs you're prescribed."

You do no such thing. You're links always point to sketchy purpose built sites set up to support the pro covid narrative. I've personally checked many

I'll never take another vaccine again. I don't know what's worse the vax or the lies that have surrounded it for years.

Up to 60k dead attributable to clot shot. Verifiable. Per Grok. Potentially far higher

Only the elderly and infirm will trust it and that's bc they have no alternative.

I was forced to get AZ shot. I would have refused any mRNA shot and walked from my job. The efficacy said to be marginal and the shot withdrawn from market

Riding mass transit, working with large groups in close quarters many of which developed COVID - I did not. My wife similar situation - did not.

We also must acknowledge this virus was manufactured in a Chinese lab with US government approval and *oversight*. It was genetically manipulated. The virus was set loose upon the world. That's just fact.
