An incident occurred at a water park in Rayong, when an eight-year-old girl drowned despite desperate resuscitation efforts by rescue personnel. Medics performed CPR at the scene before rushing her to Rayong Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The incident has prompted police and local authorities to investigate safety measures at the facility.

The incident took place around 12.39 on 25 October 2025, when Pol Lt Anusorn Sripanna, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Phe Police Station, received a report of a child drowning at a water park in Phe Subdistrict, Mueang District, Rayong Province. He immediately alerted his superiors and coordinated with rescue teams from Sawang Porakunsan Foundation, Ban Phe unit, and emergency medical staff.

Upon arrival, rescuers found the young girl lying unconscious beside the pool. Emergency responders performed continuous CPR amid the panic of onlookers and tourists. Medical staff from Rayong Hospital’s Advanced Life Support (ALS) team were called to the scene and transported the girl urgently to hospital, but she was later confirmed dead.

Investigators identified the victim as an eight-year-old girl from Na Ta Khwan Subdistrict, Mueang District, Rayong. According to initial reports, she had come to the water park with her aunt for a leisure visit. It is believed the child may have accidentally entered a deeper section of the pool unnoticed before being found underwater.

Police are now working to determine the exact cause of the incident. Authorities have stated that they will examine whether the water park had sufficient safety personnel and proper monitoring systems in place. Officials will also assess whether safety standards were being properly enforced at the time.

Number 2 cause of death in children here is drowning (closing following road accidents).

So many avoidable deaths
