Seven Chinese nationals were arrested by security forces at a resort in Aranyaprathet district, Sa Kaeo province, on 26 October 2025, after illegally crossing into Thailand from Myanmar. The men were allegedly planning to travel onward to Sihanoukville, Cambodia, when they were detained during a joint operation.

The arrest took place at around 12:30 after officers from the Burapha Task Force, under the command of Colonel Chainarong Kasi, received intelligence about a group of illegal migrants hiding in the area. Military personnel from the Aranyaprathet Special Task Force and the 1206th Ranger Company conducted a search at the Chai Chana Resort in Ban Khao Noi. Inside rooms 4 and 5, they found seven Chinese men without passports or immigration documents.

According to preliminary questioning through an interpreter, the group admitted to crossing the border from Myanmar into northern Thailand on 24 October. They said they had worked previously in Myanmar before arranging to enter Thailand through an unidentified natural border crossing. Their final destination was reportedly Sihanoukville, the coastal city in Cambodia.

After entering Thailand, the men stayed at a hotel in Bangkok while waiting for assistance from a Chinese acquaintance based in Cambodia. This contact allegedly arranged for a Thai man, whose identity is unknown, to transport them to Sa Kaeo without any payment involved. On 25 October, the driver picked them up in Bangkok and brought them to Chai Chana Resort to await further travel arrangements to Cambodia.

The coordinated operation, led by military forces, resulted in the arrest of the group before they could cross the border into Cambodia. Officers confirmed that all seven detainees had entered Thailand illegally and possessed no valid entry documentation.

Authorities have since transferred the men to the 1206th Ranger Company headquarters for further questioning and formal arrest documentation. Investigators are now working to trace the human-smuggling network responsible for facilitating their movements between Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia. The seven suspects will be handed over to Khlong Nam Sai Police Station for legal proceedings under immigration law.

Thailand still in the thick of aiding and abetting people trafficking.

It needs to be said again: any and all news related to China is BAD news.

They should have applied for visas. They would get them too.
