so they ruled out foul play?

As everyone else was able to read in the OP...

"Police later inspected the hotel room and found no signs of a struggle or foul play".

On rooms with the facility of a balcony?

Bangkok Hospital (Pattaya) has large balconies and locked windows meaning the balcony cannot be used.. Probably related to when Finance phone up and tell the patient the amount due.

@Liverpool Lou In my post. That's my opinion. If you have a problem with that, you'll just have to suck it.

No, it wasn't your opinion as nothing had been reported in order for you to come to that opinion, it was unfounded speculation based on nothing.  I don't have a problem with anyone's opinions, I do have issues with false assertions and fabrication.

I'm guessing if the girl was not local, then likely he would have been speaking in French...

How would anyone know he was communicating with a girlfriend?

@Liverpool Lou You might not have noticed, but most of what is posted on this forum are...opinions.

My opinion is that 24 year old do not travel alone to Pattaya for the temples. Do you have an opinion or are you just looking for an argument as per usual?

Dear .... @Liverpool Lou Please present your alternative theories on what a 24 year old might be doing alone in Pattaya?

No thanks, I don't do unnecessary speculation.

True, but it is our choice to be here. Thais don't go to our homelands  and unalive themselves in quite the same manner and frequency as foreigners do in Thailand.

Unalive themselves.....geez.

A 24-year-old unnamed French man, sustained serious injuries after jumping from the fifth floor of a hotel in South Pattaya early morning, following an apparent argument with his girlfriend. The incident occurred at around 05:05 on 27 October 2025. Emergency responders and a medical team were quickly dispatched to the scene after Pattaya City Police received reports of a person falling from height.

At the car park below the building, rescuers found the man lying in a pool of blood, barely breathing. Rescue volunteers and doctors administered first aid and rushed him to Pattaya City Hospital for emergency treatment. His condition was reported as serious at the time of transport.

According to a security guard on duty, the man had been seen climbing up and down the balcony area of his fifth-floor room shortly before the incident. Staff members had repeatedly urged him to come down and he briefly complied before climbing up again and jumping. Witnesses said that prior to the incident, he had been overheard shouting during a heated phone conversation, believed to be with his girlfriend.

Police later inspected the hotel room and found no signs of a struggle or foul play. Investigators believe the man may have been emotionally distressed over relationship issues, leading him to make an impulsive and dangerous decision. Authorities are now working to contact the woman who was reportedly on the phone with him to better understand the sequence of events. Officers said the investigation would continue while the victim remains under hospital care.

Cat used up another of his nine lives.

He apparently hit the pavement without anything cushioning his impact.

They say that if you fall more than ten meters you will most likely break your neck and give up the ghost. Actually he may have spinal trauma anyway and just be hanging on for the moment.

A 24-year-old Frenchman has died in hospital after jumping from a hotel balcony in South Pattaya in the early hours of October 27, 2025. Rescuers arrived at the scene following a report from a security guard and found him lying in a pool of blood with severe head injuries and a broken right leg. He was rushed to Pattaya City Hospital after receiving first aid on site, but later succumbed to his injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 05:00, when the Sawang Boriboon Dhammasathan Foundation received an alert about a person who had fallen from a hotel. A security guard witnessed the man, identified only as Mr. Kurtis, initially standing on the balcony with arms outstretched and appearing to be arguing on his phone,  before returning to his room and then jumping. The guard tried to help, took a photo and immediately notified the police.

Police inspection of room 514 revealed two bags of cannabis and remnants of some that had been smoked by the deceased. The room was locked from the inside, with no signs of struggle and Mr. Kurtis was the sole occupant. Authorities are investigating whether stress or other factors contributed to the plunge. His body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police Hospital, for autopsy.

Police are examining CCTV footage, witness statements, and forensic evidence to gain a full understanding of the circumstances. Local law enforcement emphasises the need for hotel staff to remain vigilant in preventing similar incidents. Investigations are ongoing, and officials have urged hotels and resorts to report any unusual behaviour among guests promptly.

• A 24-year-old Frenchman died after jumping from a Pattaya hotel balcony on October 27, 2025.

Why does this happen so much?

Big nightlife area where it's easy and encouraged to get drunk and/or high every night mixed with a city full of prostitution that attracts the lonely, mentally ill and addicts. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

Sure, RIP and generally sad that he had to die. However, the man jumped from the fifth floor, and the outcome might be the one he wished.

We had a Thai restaurant in my UK hometown and I recall once catching the male owner in front and having a chat with him... he was very pleased to hear his own language and a very nice guy. A year or so later I read online he had murdered his Thai wife there. My point is it isn't limited to foreigners in Thailand....

Twenty four, best years of ones life!

Silly man, why not throw out some furniture instead?

Other factors like maybe laced ganja?

I already answered in post #2 of this thread.

It happens a lot.  Way more than it should in a place that is supposed to makes a man happy  and enjoy life.

“Living the Dream “ blah blah blah is a common term heard.  The reality for many (not all) is it turns into “Living a Nightmare “.

Personally I think many of these guys (regardless of age) had issues before even arriving in Thailand.   Those issues get magnified in Thailand if not kept in check.

View Talay 6 was at one time headquarters for the flyers club.

Age 24 is not a “kid” either.  Young man but not a kid.

Unfortunately this practice will continue as long as Pattaya exists.

I guess he did not get the memo....she is not into him and his turn was coming to an end.

Bet the farm she is waking up in bed with another Frenchie or Aussie or Brit or Tomboy.

Darwin takes no prisoners.

Or the expensive gifts he "bought the love of his life"...

Why on earth is a 24 year old getting involved with prostitutes? Did he think it was actually his girlfriend? Tragic.

The reason is simple, Issan Rice Farmer's daughter's p is very addictive.

Who is 'they'?

I saw no mention of it in the OP.
