Apart from covid, in 25 years i cannot ever having a problem getting a drink in Pattaya, can't say the same for Bangkok and other places.

I can remember however when mid afternoon you couldn't get near a bar in New Plaza yet Soi 6 was all shut up.

Like many things in Thailand, inconsistancy is rampant, but what is strange is objections to a move that would reduce the inconsistancy around bars.

 

I think that danceclubs should be open until at least 4 am. Or, maybe 4 am from Sunday night to Thursday night, and maybe 5 am on Friday and Saturday nights. That is how it is in  most countries for danceclubs. People usually go to those places after 11 pm and like to stay till very late.

 

Now, as for bars and pubs, the hours could be debatable. But, I guess 2 or 3 am should be good for those.
