Interesting.
Reminds me how in the past when flying from Bangkok into Heathrow in the evening and catching a plane early the following morning to Toulouse I stayed overnight at the airport.  I declined the offer of a room for 20 GBP/hour at the airport hotel in Terminal 3, to overnight as permitted at Terminal 1.  I am a budget traveller.
When the airport closed at 11 p.m., myself and others in like circumstance were moved to a departure lounge where one could sleep on the carpeted floor until 5 a.m.  The lounge was unheated and chilly but after the first such trip I always brought a sleeping-bag in my cabin luggage.

  • Yes, let's go after the pensioners (again) to pay for the 4 star hotels for illegal immigrants. 🤮

  • What does Roger say about immigrant housing? Nothing ...... he loves illegals!

  • Probably will be.   That's the role of socialist governments. Remove money from hard working responsible people into the hands of the state to be reallocated to those who cannot be bothered

Not sure what that has to do with the topic but maybe a very inexpensive travellers novel could be in your future if you added some interesting anecdotes?

Roger Bootle is a far right leaning economist who writes for the Daily Telegraph. So expect his ideas to be taken up by right of centre parties. So if you vote for them, more likely to see your State pension cut. Will not be long before destitute pensioners are sent to the workhouse, like a century ago.

Two Tier and Two Tear under the cosh.

😂

Credit where credit is due. Irrespective of the veracity of the statement, that's quite good👍

I believe the Home Secretary is about to announce dramatic changes regarding migrants ( I think on Nov 17).

No more hotels, illegals to be put up in camps/ barrack style.

To gain residency, migrants have to be resident for 10 years, up from the present 5, and pass an English language exam.

Apologies for any inaccuracies.

That would be a good start if true.

It would tide us over until the next election at which point Reform could put in some more severe changes.

It's been reported that the permanent residence waiting period for refugees will be raised to 20 years. And each will be reviewed every 2.5 years. If the country they left behind becomes safe during those 20 years, back they go! Not sure what happens to the kids they give birth to on UK soil during that period. Also temporary residents - or British Citizens?
