My fine art collection, I couldn't live without it, I wouldn't want to live without it, and some days I almost prefer it over food. It provides me a lot of nourishment and inspiration.

Batman comic books are not considered art.

When will we see your results from Trumps physical examination?

I was going to say my Japanese nose hair clipper (in jest) but I don't really think of stuff that way. Unfortunately, I feel that stuff owns me more than I own stuff.

I keep my appartment in Norway, good to have just in case.

My gadget which makes my life easier, is my budget phone Google Pixel 9a. Paid around 14k baht for it on sale in Norway before it was in stock. Good enough pics, and basically keeps my life on track, and pays my bils, and shopping. I guess that’s the most important thing/object in my life, while the appartment is my safety asset.

I never had a thing for just things, it needs to be a purpose. I carried things that I didn’t use anymore out of nostalgic reasons, but since I moved often, it became a burden to continue to carry them around, so I let it go. Actually felt liberating.

my old karate instructor once said, it is ok to own things.  Just don't let things own you

And what is it that you do with it exactly? Sit and stare?

Good choice. Something with real utility and functional value as opposed to all these collectors posting pictures of old stuff that mostly just sits there.

Wow, talk about possessing the syndrome, you just simply can't let it go.

Anybody who has to ask what the purpose of owning fine art is, would never be capable of understanding the explanation. So, why bother?

So you do you have the lab reports ready that confirms your claims on Trumps health?

Or just another leftist’s liar.  Seems to be an outrageously high number of them on this forum.  Nobody provides evidence of their claims.

Didn't ask you the purpose. I asked what you do with it.

We own things for a multitude of different reasons, one of the best reasons I can think of to own something is if it provides you inspiration on a daily basis. It doesn't get much better than. Some people look at art and they see nothing, other people look at fine art and they see a whole world, and a tremendous level of conceptual genius and technical mastery. To each his own.

I can't knock a guy for not being inspired by art, I don't understand it, and I'm certainly glad I'm not afflicted with that, but this would be an incredibly boring planet if we were all the same.

Gotcha, and I wasn't being facetious with my question. Some people collect fine art but store it away safely because they’re worried about it being damaged or stolen. These are often collectors who view art primarily as an investment.

That said, even though you still didn’t directly answer my question, I’m guessing you have your artwork displayed on the walls at home, and that you enjoy taking time to look at it now and then. If that's what you enjoy, great!

Personally, I really like art as well, mainly modern art or surrealism, but I prefer experiencing it in museums, especially ones with unique or engaging spaces. I feel like the environment really enhances the experience and helps me focus more on the art. That said, I'm not someone who spends hours just sitting and staring at one piece, nor do I need to view the same piece many times.

That said, I've also been to some poorly maintained museums, and those environments can have the opposite effect, completely killing the mood and taking away from the experience. And I have seen my share of completely pretentious modernistic crap too. Just because it is being presented in a notable venue, doesn't always mean the that work is going to blow you away.
