Cyber police have shut down a major online gambling network, hrbx856, with an estimated annual turnover of 1.2 billion baht, seizing large quantities of evidence and arresting six suspects. The coordinated raids took place on 5 November 2025, targeting three locations across Bangkok and Chonburi. The operation was led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Suraphon Prembutr, Commissioner of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), following intelligence that the network had been operating for over a year.

The searches were conducted under warrants issued by the Criminal Court and Pattaya Provincial Court. The first site was a residence in Thung Wat Don, Sathon, the second a foreign exchange shop in Yaowarat, and the third a house in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi. Officers seized over 700,000 baht in cash, 41 mobile phones, four desktop computers, one laptop, 11 bank books, 10 ATM cards and 75 electronic devices linked to the gambling operation.

Six individuals were detained, including Ms. Jutamas (33) from Bangkok, Ms. Kasarin (42) from Samut Sakhon, Mr. Su Yu-hsiu (32) from Taiwan, Mr. Witsanu (21) from Chonburi, Ms. Mantana (23) from Loei, and Ms. Sunisa (20) from Khon Kaen. Two of the Thai women were already wanted on warrants issued by the Nonthaburi Provincial Court for money laundering and illegal gambling promotion.

Investigations revealed that the hrbx856 website had more than 340,000 registered members and generated over 100 million baht per month. The platform offered a wide range of illegal betting options, including lottery, slot games, football and baccarat. Authorities traced its financial transactions through accounts belonging to The Luxury Store Co. Ltd., a front company allegedly owned by a Malaysian national, who remains at large. The firm had been registered as an importer of branded goods but was found to be inactive and instead used to launder gambling proceeds.

Funds were funneled through multiple bank accounts, including those belonging to two Taiwan-controlled companies, before being distributed to Thai “mule” accounts. Each account reportedly handled hundreds of thousands to millions of baht per day, using complex transfers to obscure the money trail. Police obtained eight arrest warrants in total: one for a Malaysian suspect, three for Taiwanese nationals, and four for Thais.

The suspects face serious charges, including illegal online gambling, conspiracy and money laundering. Police stated that most of those arrested have confessed, while a few continue to deny involvement. The investigation is ongoing to locate additional suspects and trace the remaining funds.
