How safe is it to give personal details to ChatGPT?

Featured Replies

ChatGPT is brilliant for putting together travel plans and itineraries including visa applications and other travel documents.   How much personal information should be shared and are there are red flags to watch out for?  Can AI scam you?

travel plans and itineraries

I read this article on the BBC website a few weeks back that gave me pause for thought.

https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/20250926-the-perils-of-letting-ai-plan-your-next-trip

So suggest you double check that locations and routes given in any itinerary actually exist.

Why would anyone give personal details to any website, unless absolutely mandatory to use, and then, do you really need to use ?

Don't know of any website or app, that probably hasn't been hacked yet, and while they all suggest, picking a hard password, and change it frequently.

My brokerage, TH Imm, BBL, DTL, and I think that's it, has my personal info.

Google your legal name, if you get any results, that's way too many already.

A couple very old sites, which I no longer use, have my 'old' legal name, so useless.  Nothing comes up for my latest legal name.
