I don't attract losers at all!

And putting me in the same league as harassfan is not a compliment.

For me it just doesn't feel the same.

Red hot, price of a turkey is ludicrous and the fact that christmas day isn't recognized as an official holiday all add up to the less than optimal experience imo.

This year I'm spending christmas in the alps with my brother Chris, whom I haven't seen for a while.

Can't wait!

Eric.

25 december is a work day,

So yeah no celebration.

Happy Christmas! I order sometimes, but mostly I make it myself. Anyway, now you can find it. 🙂

You know, people got to earn things in life. Stop acting like you play in the same league then.

Not as weird as eating a cheesecake in a shopping mall on Christmas day!!

Think about that for a second.

Eric.

Why would that be weird, actually quite enjoyable, especially at CC Factory.   Obviously you've never been ... big surprise.

Beats sitting home, critiquing people's eating enjoyment :coffee1:

Sorry for those who go/went to work and anticipate the weekend.
Anyway, to specifically address the question, personally enjoy spending any day anywhere at this point in life as every day is a bonus and couldn’t care less if it were Christmas Day or Micky Mouse Day.

Just before Xmas there is a big event at lumpinee park, to raise money for the red cross.

10 day event and attracts millions of people. Chaos but great!

We don't celebrate Chrismas as a religious thing (Madam is Buddhist, I'm atheist) but we do have a tree and some flashing lights.

On the closest Sunday to the 25th (it will be the 21st this year to avoid clashing with New Year) we have a family / village mega-party! Too much food, way too much alcohol. Prezzie draw topped up by yours-truly so everybody gets something decent (watching a 7 year old Thai kid dancing around having drawn the 1,000 Baht envelope is delightful).

And the visitors clear up after themselves too! We just have to put away the dishes.

All good fun!

Next party is Songkran, same format without the tree and prezzies but with the added fun of having some of my UK family over.

Simple solution there to. It comes very close if you mix it right. Ask somebody in Sweden to send Soda Stream powder for Jul Must. You don´t ned a soda stream here, as you can just mix it with soda water.

I was at a similar event in a village in Udon Thani (Wang Sam Mo) around 20 years ago. I saw equal delight when a young lad pulled the ticket for a 4 pack of Mama noodles. How times have changed eh? I did bring a load of sweets and cheap toys (yo-yos, spinners, Pez sweet dispensers etc) over that trip knowing there would be such an event. Made sure all the youngsters got a small 'party bag'. Was a fantastic day(s) but took a while to recover.

I dress up as Buddha Santa and go to our school.. it does not go well.

X Mas in Thailand is fun with all those hot chicks dressed as Santa all over,  looking like christmas trees with sets of huge X mas balls.

You've clearly never visited southern Thailand, so better if you say nothing rather than demonstrate your ignorance.

The problem is not christmas. It's all the annoying drunks from the west who come over for 10 days just to get cheap ladies and booze.

Only celebrate one time in Thailand. The other times i worked offshore for tripple salary in Malaysia and Singapore. The last years celebrate xmas in my home country. Its a stupid rule they have in Thailand hotels.Even u dont want to join the Xmas buffet and dinner u have to pay thousands of baht anyway.

They are paying top dollar for a ticket and for accommodation for that short window so I have no problem with them getting up to a bit of mayhem and mischief. I'm pretty sure the 'working' girls welcome them too. Pricing you out of the market?

Might be knobs but they are your more loaded, free spending knobs that may not come at other times of the year. Your higher class 'annoying drunk' so to speak.

Love it in Bangkok. Amazing.

Xmas day last year I ended up in the cheesecake factory in central world, for desert.

At +450 baht that is my most expensive piece of cake here!
