Police in Chon Buri have arrested a Taiwanese man and four Thai nationals after a Thai woman was abducted, assaulted and taken from her apartment in Sattahip on the night of 14 November 2025. Officers from Najomtien Police Station were alerted when rescue volunteers reported that the woman had been taken by a group including a foreign man who dropped two mobile phones while fleeing. These devices became key evidence, enabling police to arrange a sting operation that resulted in the group’s arrest.

The incident began around 21:00 when rescue leader Nampol Chomwilai, who had been called by a witness, notified police that a Thai woman had been kidnapped from an apartment in Soi Nong Jab Tao, Moo 6, Najomtien, after the suspect dropped two mobile phones at the scene. Shortly afterwards, a Thai woman called one of the phones to retrieve it, allowing police to set up a meeting to detain the suspects. A Honda car was intercepted, carrying driver Ms Supawadee (Mimi), 25, Ms Jiraphorn (Apple), 25, Taiwanese national Mr Kao, 33 and the abducted woman, identified only as O, 24, who is the niece of a local police sergeant.

Following interrogation, officers expanded the operation and arrested two more men, Mr Suphanasuphanat, 23 and Mr Porntep, 32, along with an MG5 sedan used during the abduction. Mr Kao told investigators he had dated the victim for about two years in Taiwan before they separated, during which she allegedly borrowed 100,000 baht from him but returned only 1 baht. He said he flew to Thailand on 14 November to confront her, coordinating with the two Thai women to find a car and locate the victim before abducting her from her residence.

Ms Apple and Ms Mimi stated they did not know the victim and believed they were helping pick up a foreign friend from Suvarnabhumi Airport. They told police they asked their friends, the two male drivers, to assist and then accompanied Mr Kao to the victim’s apartment, where they pretended to deliver a parcel to lure her downstairs. The women said they were unaware that Mr Kao would slap and assault the victim before forcing her into the vehicle to travel towards Pattaya for a dispute over the unpaid loan.

Two male drivers denied involvement, claiming they thought they were simply renting out a car to take a foreign tourist to Pattaya. A witness, Ms A, 27, told police she saw a Chinese looking man and Thai women arguing loudly before the victim came downstairs and was grabbed, choked and assaulted while shouting for help. After the group fled, she found two phones and the victim’s shoes on the ground and alerted her partner.

The Daily News reported that Najomtien Police Chief Pol Col Pattana Roopru has confirmed that the victim suffered facial injuries including a swollen right eye, and that the suspects also threatened her family for repayment of the alleged debt. All five suspects have been charged with assault causing injury and unlawful detention and have been sent to investigators for prosecution at Pattaya Provincial Court. Police say further inquiries are underway to determine additional offences and verify all claims.

Quita a convoluted tale..... a bit surprised when I read on that the group included females, I thought the local 'rent a thug' only employed males.

Amazing how stupid these thugs are. To lose your phones during a kidnapping and then have someone call your phone to find it. haha... I guess they will not be worrying about having a phone for a few years.

The Thai men clearly were part of the kidnapping and since they did not contact police and actively participated in the abduction without reporting it to the police, then there is nothing they can say to deny their involvement.

100,000 baht might have been part of it.

Yeah, yeah, people come up with a lot of things to make them sound legitimate. Even if there was a loan, the way of trying to get it back is still same unlawful.

Yes, I did, but you didn´t post that. The only thing you posted, was a lame excuse for the action.

I guess you didn´t realize that part

Didn't this just occur a few months ago? Might have even been Taiwanese as well.

Thai cops best get a grip on their Asian brothers bc it's out of control.

Flying down from Taiwan, hiring 4 locals and renting a car & kidnapping a woman by force to take back 100,000 Baht seems extremely foolish to me.

it seems he was angry and unforgiving to me, 1 year, 10 year, no problem, he will get even, eventually,

if not in this life, then in next life

Is this Mr. Kao from Taiwan they are talking about?

Those guys in Taiwan, they are quite passive aggressive.

And, they can hold a grudge for many decades.

There should be laws in place to force women to repay money they received on the pretense of "love faking" with a real and enforceable legal process that enables men to recover money they lost to a woman that basically defrauded them by faking love.

This is a pandemic worse than Covid.

Do they ever regard it as a loan when the source is a foreigner? ' Can you lend me' means 'can you give me' surely.

That is right Jacko and why I always get in first and ask to borrow their money before they ask to borrow mine.
