Austrian Man Caught at Phuket Airport With Forged Passport Stamps

A 41-year-old Austrian national was arrested at Phuket International Airport when immigration officers discovered forged entry and exit stamps in his passport, and further found he had overstayed his visa by 578 days. The man was detained in the departure hall during a routine check and is now facing charges for using counterfeit official stamps and visa violations. Police have yet to disclose how he obtained the fake stamps or whether he acted alone, though they suspect deliberate intent to mask his long-term overstay. Immigration authorities noted that overstaying by more than 90 days is already a serious offence and that the addition of forgery escalates the offence significantly.
