A newborn baby girl was found dead inside a black plastic bag dumped in a banana grove beside a railway line in Thon Buri district on 18 November 2025, shocking local residents and prompting an urgent police investigation. The discovery was made near the end of Soi Wutthakat 3 in Talat Phlu after a passer-by initially believed the bag contained a discarded doll. Police, forensic officers from the Central Institute of Forensic Science, a Siriraj Hospital forensic doctor and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers attended the scene.

The body was found wrapped in a black plastic bag and a blue pha thung, (traditional cylindrical skirt) with the umbilical cord and traces of amniotic fluid still inside the inner bag. A bloodstained shirt was also discovered in the wrapping. Police confirmed the infant was a newborn female and that the body had been concealed inside a second bag placed within the outer covering.

The person who found the body, a 58-year-old man named Ang, said he had been clearing grass near the railway line that morning when he noticed the suspicious bag. He explained that after opening the outer bag, he found another bag inside and initially thought the contents were a rubber doll. When he realised it was the body of a newborn, he immediately notified police and stated he was shocked that someone would abandon a baby in such a manner.

Khoasod reported that police investigators have begun reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify who left the bag at the site. Officers are also contacting nearby hospitals to determine whether any woman sought treatment for heavy bleeding consistent with recent childbirth. Police said they will pursue legal action once the mother or any responsible party is identified.
