On the other hand, I think it´s just you, dreaming up a storm. Probably because you had to go through such difficulties before and had a hard time adjusting and comprehending the situation. I'm still in early 30s but already in Internet business and IT since age 15-16, I always rejected social media from the very start except a bit Facebook when it still was fun. It seems that it really went out of control since they started doing these shorts / reals. Apparently the algo's even purposely let you see things you don't really like much on purpose, so that when you then get the next one that you do like, get a small chemical release again in the brains. 

I'm 100% pro to ban social media for under 16 year olds in that way too. Studies also say it is just as addictive as heroin or opioids are. In Thailand people average 12 hours per day online time or something, then factor in many do work so a lot of them even spend more close to 14-16 hours online.

 

It annoys me a lot with YouTube doing it too as I often get tricked into watching it and then before I know I am scrolling, even I hate it. Like hypnosis. The worst is that they now edit videos in a way you don't realize the short ended already, to then watch / listen to the same thing 2-3 times in a row.

What he writes is rich coming from a bloke who spends ten hours a day on the Internet putting up websites and creating links that drive unsuspecting Internet users to scammy eCommerce websites. Was recently listening to an Alan Watts channel on YouTube, thinking this is some really great stuff.  Watts seriously had it going on.

 

Then happened to read the description.  The content creator acknowledged that the voice was an AI-generated copy of Alan Watts.  Okay, thought I, but this is still some great stuff.

 

But also acknowledged in the description: the words 'spoken' were not even Watts' own words but an "interpretation". 

 

"The content is freely interpreted, inspired by his teachings, and shared with respect and admiration. The voice used is AI-generated and not the real voice of Alan Watts."

Im online too much. I have RSS feeds from about 50+ sites (politics, tech, science) plus half dozen Thai sites and another few random fun sites. I read politics on X as well. 

 

I use Grok without logging in also for information and now grokapedia

 

This forum pretty much downhill yoy as fewer discussions about Thailand specifically. I might occasionally ask a question not about Thailand bc this is my only SM account. 

 

I have no social media other than this forum as it's just so toxic and boring. No yt, fb, insta, reddit. Once every few weeks TikTok lite to look at girlies. I forget the app is on my phone tbh. 

 

If I wasn't married I'd probably have more apps - specifically for shagging birds. Insta, dating apps
